That's false.

The Israel Defense Forces have a blockade on Gaza right now which a correct military action to take.

The aid boat that Greta Thunberg was on tried to break the blockade.

There was no "kidnapping", but her actions may make her an enemy combatant and that would be bad for her and the people on board - especially since the boat is operated by a de facto enemy propaganda organization, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Trump Administration labels her as a terrorist.

I want to say something - especially to young people...

You need to get your shit together when it comes to war versus ideals and ideologies.

The mere fact that these people are "kidnapped" (Greta's and @asker's words) is indicative of mercy. If this was a real "total war" - like WW II - these people would be dead already... and the Palestinians in Gaza all dead or living as diaspora.

The purpose of war is to win it - as quickly as possible to minimize the threats and costs to your side. This is intuitive throughout history and has led to a lot of genocides because when all your enemies are dead, they won't ever seek revenge and you don't have to worry about them again.

Well, Israel has been taking a relatively merciful approach for almost 80 years. They fight to keep themselves alive from attack by neighbors and hostile forces. Some of those hostile forces - like Egypt and Jordan and Saudi Arabia - realized they could not win and established peace with Israel. But others, such as Hamas, Iran, and others, haven't learned and won't give up their idealistic goal of eliminating Israel. This has been going on since 1948 since the day Israel was created.

Well, after 80 years of constant wars and terrorist attacks, the Muslim world should be thankful that Israel hasn't been more harsh. Frankly, the time may come in which Israel takes even more drastic measures. And who's going to fight them? Israel has nuclear weapons which pretty much guarantees they remain existing. But, this Gaza War illustrates that the patience of Israel is running thin... And, frankly, even to someone like me who's been watching this shit for over 50 years.

I haven't exactly made my point, so I will try to do it now in light of the background I have just written...

There comes a point in people's lives - and this includes national psyches - when "enough is enough". You either solve the problem permanently or you give up.

It is important to understand this because this causes people to suddenly change in their behavior. They will go from calm and restrained to having a "just get it done at any cost" wrath because they are sick and tired of what's been going on.

The current war in Gaza is an example of this. Another example is the United States firebombing Dresden, Germany and Tokyo, Japan in WW II. The eventual dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in WW II are yet more examples of this. Indeed, the scientists who developed the atomic bomb themselves were peaceful men, but they understood the darker side of human nature (and that the Germans would have been trying to develop the bomb too) and that WW II had to come to an end. With the atom bomb, it finally did.

But, like in WW II, those on the receiving end of that wrath often suffer greatly.

And, this has led to many genocides over the 2+ million year history of the human genus.

Greta Thunberg may be a brave and passionate young lady, but she's also a bit naïve about human nature and the real world. She may get killed at some point. I laud her for speaking about global warming, but getting involved in this war was not smart.

I applaud her courage, the place is a mess. I'd be curious how it go if she actually landed, because they really don't want us to see reality of it.

But if she did that anywhere she'd get caught, it's a war zone. Keeping her safe from it is necessary. And I'd wonder if hamas would take her prisoner like the others and she'd never been seen again outside a body bag. All shed have to do is tell them she's for womens rights, she's a lesbian now and she's there for Palestine (made up, probably not true) ! tears. Remember the Kmher Rouge... Hamas seems to be kind of like them.

She was not kidnapped by Israel. Her boat illegally entered a naval blockade area off the coast of Gaza, and Israel stopped and seized the boat. She and everyone onboard were treated well, given water and sandwiches, and taken to Israel, where they are being arranged to go back to their home countries.

Well Greta doesn't understand the word blockade and the international law around this. In declaring a blockade the country must enforce it. Sorry Greta you fucked up by not checking the international law of the sea first.

Not to worry Israel is taking good care of her and running medical checks on why she can only scowl.

Sweden is in no hurry to get her back and seems most inclined to dump her on Israel as their problem child.

While there is a deportation agreement between Sweden and Israel, there will probably be many months of careful diplomatic negotiations on who has to end up with her.

Not only is the claim fake, but the Swedish government she made her fake plea towards pretty much said she can pound sand. Her entire trek was also nothing more than a publicity stunt, as it turns out a motorized sailboat is quite incapable of breaching a blockade, and they barely had enough supplies for themselves on a one-way trip let alone to distribute to anyone on arrival.

According my feeling, Greta Thunberg knows very well what she was going to be involved with when accepting to be part of this humanitarian action. She's well known and popular worldwide, which gives more voice to the attempt to help the people from the Gaza strip. Odds are thus high the Israelian authorities will treat with more care the passangers of the aid boat, than they otherwise would probably have done.

Ms Thunberg was  not  'kidnapped' by Israel, she was arrested by IDF trying to enter Israeli waters and has since been shown the videos of HAMAS's actions of Oct 7th 2023, when along with killing 1,200 people. More than 800 were Israeli civilians. The others were members of Israel's security forces, first responders and foreign workers. They also seized some 251 Israeli and foreign national hostages
