Greta Thurnberg. After her deranged display showed how emotionally unstable she is should she be put into an institution?

While I think it may be a difficult task for a very young person to do, I don't think she has any problems and would be fine as long her family is supportive. I think everyone has the right to have an opinion in a democracy. That includes children too although they can't vote. It's the adult's decisions to make up their own opinion and I don't understand how Thunberg's opinions are bothering anyone. I don't think she's emotionally unstable. To me she seems like an intelligent and stable person who knows which rhetoric that's smart to use to gain attention and to solve a political goal. It's actually a good skill to have and she clearly knows what she's doing. You don't have to be a trained actor to convey emotions and a message a good way. Some people just knows it. I don't understand the complains of her getting too much attention either and people complaining about it just contribute to her getting even more.
I think some of the climate changes are natural and some are influenced by humans. I'm not scared of the climate changes. I do however think it's possible to solve it and people should attempt to slow it down. Everything in the world could be improved and that includes climate as well.
she has aspergers, bad social skills, socially numb basically
@DevylasArsaukas76
wow, are you a psychologist?
@juliaanita no that's what aspergers basically does to people
@DevylasArsaukas76 What exactly does it do?
@juliaanita makes people socially numb, unexpressive, and they have a hard time maintaining any friendships, if possible relationships, they may be brilliant in some ways but lack the necessary social skills to survive in this world,
How did a teenager get to speak in the U. N. assembly?
The poor, manipulated girl! She may feel very much attached to the whole anthropomorphic climate-change ideology, but she should realize that this theory isn't too reliable.
"U. N. Predicts Disaster if Global Warming Not Checked"
「UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ A senior U. N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.
…
Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U. S. Environmental Protection Agency study.」

It's already late 2019 and this hasn't exactly happened yet, has it?
They scared my parents' generation, island- & archipelago-nations will all drown by around that time, and yet we still live. Their findings may be what they are, but their findings should be taken with a grain (or 'massive scoops') of salt!
😂😂😂
How've you been @White-American89? I see while I've been exploring a brand new chapter, you've still remained the same narrow-minded sack of hate, I guess some things just don't change, do they?
As for Greta Thunberg- I'm sure she did better than you could have at the age of 16, and I'm 16 now, and she's done a better job than I ever could have at speaking in front of world leaders, so no it is a cause she cares about, she's not emotionally unstable. She's passionate. There's a difference.
And as for the whole climate change issue. We cannot prove that humans are the cause of climate change, we could be the cause of climate change or it could have happened anyway. We don't know because we can't prove it.
But one thing which any person or child can see is that the way we live now is not good for the environment so whether we cause climate change or not, we should still change because either way we are harming the environment- which is very unethical and it can hurt future generations.
Bravo!
Agreed Pakistanis are a major polluters
@andreasderjuengere Thank you :)
@White-American89 Are you okay? Do you need to hop on a plane and come to Specsavers because I don't know where I said what you "agree" with me on.
You're only bringing Pakistanis into this because you know I'm of Pakistani descent. Anyone with half a working brain cell can see that you are one racist sack of hate. You're a dinasour. You're obviously racist and then try and use loopholes to prove you're not, you objectify women, you have one perverted mind which my I add is also a narrow-mind.
You make Windows 1.0 look like Quantum computing.
Pakistani is a nationality not a race and you guys need to do better.
@White-American89 This is what I mean when I say loopholes. You're a racist through and through- I still have hope for you, you can change but it's all up to you Windows 1.0.
Are you the girl that says its not racist for Pakistani men in your country to rape white chicks?
If you know a girl being targeted or several girls being targeted rather than coming to G@G, why don't you report it to the authorities, get in contact with charities- like victims of this grooming gang got in contact with the charity "Islam Rotherham" and reported their case of abuse. You could contact your local MP and express your distress about this issue, even email Andrew Norfolk, or contact him via social media and tell him what's happening, or even contact Nazir Afzal, neither Norfolk or Afzal will ignore you if you have a genuine case- Norfolk will help report it to the wider British public and Afzal would help these gangs become prosecuted like they were last time.
Last time, these gangs got over 100 years in jail between them, they're locked up, in prison they will have a black mark next to their name for the rest of their lives, so it will be very hard for them to go anywhere and find a job or do anything. This will haunt them for the rest of their lives because they have been prosecuted.
White girls, black girls and Asian (including Pakistani) girls were all victims of these grooming gangs and why do fail to mention the MP involved in this grooming gang who had a charity for vulnerable young people and through this charity she exploited their vulnerabilities and forced these poor young girls into having sex with Pakistani, Kurdish and Kosovan members of the grooming gang?
And if you really cared about child grooming going on in the UK then why do you not seemed to be concerned about the release of Vanessa George who abused her position at the nursery she worked at and sexually abused babies? And we still don't know which babies she abused because she won't say.
The truth is, you don't care about grooming in the UK. You're just a racist, using this disgusting crime as an attempt to manipulate people only telling half of the story- not the full facts. You fail to mention the fact that black and Asian girls were victims. You fail to mention that two white women one an MP with a charity, also groomed these young girls. You fail to mention that Nazir Afzal - a British Pakistani Solicitor - prosecuted these grooming gangs.
I don't understand why this girl got a platform. Little about her speech talks to the science. it's just an overly dramatic plea and accusation. She doesn't seem mentally ill, just an excited teen-ager with an agenda. Don't know if this is from parent indoctrination or her own thing. No way to know from this clip.
U r jealous. :)
@supercutebutt Not jealous at all. I don't need or want a platform. I said I don't understand WHY her voice is being heard because so many before her with scientific studies have been ignored. Well, maybe it's good. Maybe an emotional plea is what is needed if science doesn't do it...
Science is great but half of all Earthlings are a tad dopey. They need people like Greta to wake them up to reality.
she has Aspergers
@DevylasArsaukas76 What does her Aspergers have to do with the validity of what she said? It's been being said (not all the emotional stuff) for years now, backed up by a load of scientific studies and evidence. Seems like a lot of overreaction.
aspergers causes a lot of social short circuiting and breakdown, I think she was overstimmed and should have been removed from the stage to play with her fidget spinner
@DevylasArsaukas76 Be nice to Greta please. She seems like a great person.
@supercutebutt everyone with autism is irritating one way or another
@DevylasArsaukas76 Is that why u r getting on my nerves?

Did not watch. Libtard poster-child. Now they send their children to do their bidding cuz no one will listen to them.
The last stat I saw was that the volume of Co2 around the world, our entire atmosphere, compared to the amount of man-made Co2, the latter is like.0003% or some absurdly small amount. And why it seems the computer modeling they rely on for predicting climate change is flawed.
Sure the majority agree, and they trust their colleagues to have concrete data - this is about feelings, not fact.
"The last stat I saw was that the volume of Co2 around the world, our entire atmosphere, compared to the amount of man-made Co2, the latter is like.0003% or some absurdly small."
Oh really? Because last I knew, we actually had no way to tell what percentage of it is manmade. Please explain. I'll get the popcorn.
@holograph - Fuck your popcorn.
@holograph lmao no point in arguing, I’ve tried but he ends up resorting to name calling and ad hominem fallacies when he gets triggered
It's 3.65% you forgot something: the CO2 produced by the biosphere also gets re-absorbed by it by photosynthesis while only a small portion of the CO2 produced by human activity gets used by it. This is because when CO2 is released by the biosphere it's also released with nutrients that allow plants to grow and suck it back up. When we burn CO2, for industrial uses, we don't do this. So while humans aren't responsible for the majority of the emissions, we are responsible for the increase in CO2 levels.
www.google.com/url
And most models have accurately predicted the warming trend.
Stop peddling your BS.
@Ad_Quid_Orator - Something concrete. The rest of you are blowhards. Eat shit.
@Browneye57 is that really the best you got?
Chew on this one dingbats...
www.spartareport.com/.../
If something's slowing economic growth we don't just say "So what if something's holding it back? The economy's still growing", we still try to redress what's holding it back. Also, the number one reason that nuclear development has halted isn't because of environmental opposition, it's that the startup costs are so high, it's not competitive against fossil fuels.
I chewed it, digested it and shit it back out on your face.
@holograph - You guys are surely dim bulbs. Oh well.
Probably doesn't deserve an institution, but she is clearly young, emotional, and childish. Being that she is only 16, I'm not sure why they even entertain her juvenile rants. Obviously pollution isn't desirable, but sustaining large national economies and providing energy for billions of people around the world will have some kind of an environmental impact. These radical environmentalists have zero experience in maintaining an energy supply chain for a country, and they need to sit their cry baby selves back in their parent's basements where they can pretend to be victims and cry themselves to sleep every night.
I would really like to say that the way she delivered the message seemed wrong to me.
She could've made the speech in a more elaborative manner.
Like she should have started by simply putting the facts and then explain what is wrong today and what can be done, what are the measures that nations should take to protect environment and what steps she has taken to do the same, but what she did is she challenged world leaders in UN assembly, now that's something you should not do in order to Express your opinion.
She has already accomplished more than any of you. But she's talking to a crowd that would rather believe in the most absurt conspiracy theories than scientific evidence. As long as someone uses the terms libtard or snowflake he has enough idiots chearing him on
Speak for yourself madchen.
the accomplishments of any special eds are basically like when a toddler learns to walk, not much of an achievement, whatever they achieve is pretty minuscule compared to the rest of society
@DevylasArsaukas76 she has millions of follower who protest with her every Friday, she made presidents and other heads of governments talk to her about climate change. She's in the news almost every day. As if anythink you have ever done had more impact. It's sad that with your 43 years you recognize what she has done for society just because she has aspergers
Agreed her parents have made a lot of money and furthered their ideology
Greta is great! Keep up the good work. You are freaking out members of the dum-dum community and it is a joy to behold.
Kinda weird that you superimpose her face on an adult body in a kinky outfit. What's that about?
I didn't make the pic and the body appears to be that of a young teen. If you find that arousing, there's nothing I can do about that. :) I suppose you can jack yourself off while looking at it. That's not a crime as far as I know.
I suspect that with Greta's head now on that body, your penis will be rubbed completely raw tonight. You are totally obsessed with the amazing Greta! :)
Nah but clearly that's why you produced this picture because you desire her in a kinky outfit
As a Trumptarded gentleman, you are not used to people telling you the truth. But as I stated, I did not make the pic. It can be found by Googling. And kindly refrain from posting links to pornography, as you did in your previous post. Thanks! :)
@White-American89 Wow. You have SUCH a perverted mind. Anyone with a functioning brain cell - completely free of perverted thoughts - can see that the photo is about calling Greta Thunberg a hero like Supergirl or something.
The outfit isn't a "kinky" outfit, it's a Supergirl outfit- but of course someone like yourself who objectifies women on the regular would unsurprisingly view that kind of outfit in a (quote you) "kinky" way.
Shame on you.
Who wrote the speech for her? Bob Geldof?
Thematically, I am fully on her side.
However: this clip looks set up to me; it's an 'act' and not really convincing (to me) from the personal appearance.
The parents: to my understanding they encourage (d) her to do what she does - but aren't necessarily the actual decision makers (nor is the girl, I believe).
If I were NOT on her side with the 'issue': I would still appreciate what goes on. Young people are as much part of this world as 'adults'. They have a right for passions, opinions and visions same as everyone else.
The sailboat: I sail myself - passionately. And I find it pointless to use a RACING boat:
present days' offshore sailboat racing is ultra-commercial and rather backs the 'side' she is fighting against. A very unlucky choice.
Which does not change the fact that her trip is a great achievement in itself.
No, but it does show the weakness of her position and personal capabilities of holding a civil discussion. Greta is a shame tool. She doesn't cite studies, research, formulas, models, or anything scientific in her rhetoric. She screams at you, impugns you, glares at you, tells what you a piece of shit you are, then tells you how she thinks you should run your life. And when you don't listen to her, she does the same thing only with more righteous indignation. She's a prop, not an activist. The real activists hide behind her, using her as a shield against criticism.
It's not like her "opponents" generally cite any of those studies or research either. And when they do, huh, turns out the study was funded by the oil industry. (Yes, I mean that literally - those sorts of industries literally are funding the SMALL AMOUNT of papers claiming that things are fine.)
@holograph What need have I to cite research as evidence when the argument presented to me can be disregarded on principle? I have my own opinions on how to cut emissions and reduce global warming, but Greta is not the person I intend to have that discussion with. She's a shame monger, but her glare has no power over me. I bet even if I presented her plausible solutions to cutting emissions using existing technology she'd still dog shit on it, because it doesn't fit her world view.
I don’t know enough about the issue outside of the video you attached. She seems to passionately believe in what she’s saying. I don’t think she’s deranged, just misguided. The product of liberal education and brainwashing. Never mind the illegal immigration going on across the U. S. and Europe and the attempts to erode nations sovereignties in the push for globalization. Never mind the degeneracy being taught in schools. Never mind that people apparently think you can invert your penis and that makes you a woman. Never mind the made up genders. Never mind the abortions that take place in mass scales. Climate change! That’s what we should be concerned with.
she's doing no harm... to be fair she is doing a better job than i would... i would just say "oi you posh tossers, your all a bunch of money hungry cunts"
The same "posh tossers" that are funding her? The same posh his seed like Meghan Merkel who take private jets everywhere yet campaign for enviormentalism
My guess is her parents or handlers told her to kick it up a notch. They give her the speech she will read. Greta tried to channel her anger but she ended up sounding like a teenager when you tell her she can't go to a party. "I HATE YOU. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU. YOU'RE RUINING MY LIFE!!".
I suppose she should have used a wooden boat. And all wind turbines should be made of wood and cotton, otherwise they're not helping. Anyone calling her deranged is obviously a complete moron; maybe when you're invited to address the UN, you can do better.
The UN isn't exactly a measure of either sanity, ability or respectability...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkgLCBvcK1E
Actually yeah sh should have used a wooden boat as those are renewable. Her country has a history of building such boats.
Wind turbines decimate bird populations. I bet my carbon footprint is considerably lower than hers.
@JimRSmith He was the head of a country, with a right to speak there, though, wasn't he?
Like this guy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN2jqTilLOM
If you're both average consumers for your country, you use more. Do you have a car? She won't, she's only 16.
www.nationmaster.com/.../Energy
The materials needed to build that boat tops the carbon emissions from my car plus all her constant air travel, plus the fact that they are flying a crew from Sweden to the US to sail it back. There's a lot more building that wind towers yet bird deaths are of a similar number made worse by the fact that wind turbines are situated not in cities but in rural settings so as more turbines are built more birds will die.
Not a whole crew, just two people, ( www.firstpost.com/.../...ew-to-the-us-7179721.html ), and you know the boat will be used more than once, right?
I can't be bothered looking up where else you're wrong ("her constant air travel"? Why? Most of the places she's been have been in Europe, where we have electric trains running at up to 200 mph), you're just determined to be negative and pretend that one person's carbon footprint matters when they're trying to affect whole countries' carbon emissions.
Look i agree that children should not be used as political puppets, however, I'm not a psychology to determine she's deranged. Besides, the right has done the same thing, and when they got called for their bullshit, they act as if people are too sensitive.
I felt bad for the girl, then I realized for each hater on the internet she has like 10 supporters in real life who are more influential. And she is immune to all kinds of character attacks due to her autism, the only thing in her mind is probably the climate lol
It's an interesting situation tbh
immune to character attacks?, so she's a sociopath
Well she was clearly raised by progressives, any one raised by them needs a lot of help. She is also entirely wrong but she is useful to progressives because she is a good emotional argument and also acts like a shield because if you rip apart her argument they will accuse you of attacking a "poor innocent little girl"(they did the same with David Hogg). They are scum and cowards who hide behind children. I don't think its her fault, its their fault for having no values.
Yet another post with off-the-charts amounts of bias, personal insults, extreme hyperbole, authoritarianism, from you. Not surprised. But here's the thing... You've already lost any argument you tried to make by not setting this thread up for discussion. If you've gotta fudge your poll with options like C, then you're clearly worried about being able to debate the issues like adults without the unnecessary disrespect.
No. She's not the one who should be attacked here. She's an impressionable 16 year old girl whose parents have scared the shit out of her. They're the ones who should be attacked, along with all those pushing her to do this.
A lot of these types of people seem to like to brainwash young impressionable kids who clearly aren't old enough to make their own minds, because they're easier to influence to push their agendas and because putting up a crying kid pulls on people's heartstrings.
She's a good actress that is for sure. Her parents, father i should say, thought her well.
For those who know the true secrets of what's going on and such, you know what i'm talking about
People are such sheep to instantly believe in anything and everything lol
Many of us know what happens behind the scenes and who this girl really is and such
The media is a strong tool i tell yah.
I disagree with her message, but she is a sixteen year old girl. All of us were like that about things we were passionate about back then.
It was a little overdone and she should not have been the one to deliver the message, if it should have been delivered at all, but she isn't mentally unstable. Just emotional. I get like that sometimes when speaking passionately.
she has aspergers, and her face isn't too far off from the down syndrome
She’s just a fucking kid who is being put in a position that she shouldn’t have to be in. You can’t expect a child to be pro at speaking at huge political events. Perhaps if the people in charge actually did some shit to help the environment, then maybe we wouldn’t need a child to tell us to do it.
