My wife and I both have incomes. Both incomes go to providing for both our needs - mortgage, insurance, food, household bills, etc. Neither of us are hording money. We're a team; a unit. We're providing for our future together. Anything else wouldn't be a true partnership.

It doesn't even matter who earns more as long as you are both working together for your mutual benefit.

All of the expectations put on us to provide for the entire family, work to the bone, give up half assets in divorce cases, all financials, and more. And protect the family while being away working like a dog in a system that in most cases requires both parents to work but usually it falls on the guy anyway. And in the modern day in the west thanks to a distorted vision of feminism, men often have to be home makers as well somehow since cleaning and cooking is apparently too oppressive.

No. Men and women are built differently for different reasons.

Men are psychologically programmed to be providers in general. We feel incomplete when we're not able to earn enough to cover the bills even if both partners in the marriage are working. It's a fundamental need.

Women, generally, are fundamentally programmed to be homemakers. And 50 years of modern "feminist" agendas telling women they aren't as "good" as men if they stay at home and raise children won't undo over ten thousand years of human development - although it's managed to fuck up the last two generations pretty well, with divorce now listed as the most likely precursor to suicide in over 50% of cases - especially in cases where the father has been denied access to his kids.

So no, it's not sexist. It's the way we were designed.

So far as I can tell, in a large number of households, the primary division of labor is for the guy to bear most of the burden of supporting the family financially while the woman bears most of the burden of supporting the household (primarily caring for the children but also dealing with the bulk of the non-revenue-generating aspects of the home). If that's the jumping off point, then from the perspective of a guy, I REALLY don't mind if the woman is working for herself if she wants to work outside the home SO LONG AS SHE IS STILL CARRYING HER WEIGHT IN DEALING WITH THE NON-REVENUE ASPECTS OF THE HOUSEHOLD.

Concretely, that means that if she'd like to work and earn some cash for herself, that's cool, but she's going to need to make sure the house is still kept up. So she'll need to pay for a house-keeper (which comes out of her AFTER TAX income). Same goes for baby-sitters/childcare expenses. If her after tax income can support that, then by all means it makes sense for her to work. If not, it's probably a terrible idea.

Definitely sexist. Its this mentality that makes people look down on stay at home husband's or working guys who earn less than their wives.
It's bad both ways cause on side it's putting rigid and unhealthy expectations on men and while also reinforcing that women shouldn't earn higher or that housework is meant for them and thus a lesser thing.

Exactly! Yes, thank you. Although most of us men don't mind doing it because that's how we were raised, women are held to different standards. Calling her brave, independent because she’s doing something that all people should do regardless, work.

There are plenty that exist but are just how society functions. Or used to function.

Men are doing what they've always done - put food on the table.

Women can now earn money for themselves. For a time. Whether their new model works for a lifetime we are only now beginning to see with gen x. And for some, doesn't look too bright.

Not really. Because to be a man IS to work. We guys know that, we guys accept that, we define ourselves by that. And a guy always has ability to tell her to get lost if he feels she is not pulling her weight in a relationship. Common sense applies in regards to relationship. A woman can choose to be lazy and give minimally to a relationship (as can a man). But the only thing they do by doing so is make themselves EXPENDABLE.
