I do income taxes for 22 people in addition to my businesses and our married joint return. Mine were done and submitted in early February. I will be reducing the number of returns I do next year. Those who wait until the last week and drop a mess on me will have to either do it themselves or find someone else next year.

Filed. Thing is, that crook is inflating away ALL dollars and assets, so the "tax" confiscation is way higher. The bank accounts purchasing power is shrinking and looks like it is going to get way worse over time as the dollar devalues. What would change the trajectory of USA's decline? I feel for those whom are poor and without support and the others doing ok that will be joining them, and don't know it.

I did my taxes already earlier this month. I made a good amount of income from my job/investments last year and taxes were painful. I made a good deal more last year than two years ago, so it hurt especially more. Cost me several thousand 💀

Social Security is tax free. The IRS doesn't know about any other income I may or may not have. I haven't filed federal taxes in years.

When I was still working above the board, I filed as early as possible. The type of work I did tended to be feast or famine, which usually means large refunds. So I did it within days of getting all my paperwork.

You still need to file I believe. If this catches up to you, it’s gonna be bad. They will sniff out the other money by looking at bank accounts and also bills and estimated living expenses.

I did and I cheated too. Last year they told me NOT to report the stimulus check, then turned around and fucked me for not reporting it.
So this year I cheated and got back what they owed me from last year.

Tax day should be moved to the end of the year, late October to give people more time, and more recent perspective on the cost of what they are voting on a few days later.

That's probably precisely one of the reasons why they don't do that. Plus imagine the government giving you a refund close to the end of the year when you may really need it. If it sounds good, shoot the idea down.

I pay an accountant to do our taxes; they're too complicated to do on our own. They went in a couple weeks ago. I already have my state refund. I owe the Feds money, which gets paid on the 18th, last day possible.

Well, the IRS has thousands of people who want their jobs and benefits, the CPAs want the lucrative income of doing taxes, the tax lawyers want even more lucrative income and Turbo Tax wants their millions too. So none of them care that it takes away your personal free time to do them and is frustrating and inefficient.
