+1 yThe choices that people make are the cause of these mass shootings. Not the guns.
There are millions of people with guns, who have never harmed or want to harm someone because they have a weapon. Either way if they ban guns, thief’s and criminals won’t stop using them. The United States has banned so many things for example some drugs. Even though they’re banned it doesn’t stop people from buying them illegally. While the use of it may go down it will still be used. Same thing with a weapon, you’re just taking away the use of a gun to protect yourself from burglars or people trying to harm you.
If someone can’t defend themselves then they can lose their sense of safety. No one wants to be indefensible.

+1 yYou could ask it reverse to, if soo many millions of people own guns, how come they aren't going out and doing mass shootings?
Something in society is broken, I see it as two fold at last (probably more.)
When someone is going to end their life and they see a cause or problem, mass shootings are often suicide by cop, but taking out their anger and frustration on what they perceive as the source.
It isn't always that way though, it could be they simply want to hurt others as much as they've been hurt, so others will feel their pain. They do this by attacking the most vulnerable and do the most damage.
This is why mass shooters don't go into nursing homes and shoot everyone... while that would be bad and painful, they get maximum pain from hurting the young.
Which means we need to find out why people have so much pain and help them to not be hurt, better yet... not hurt them in the first place for them to feel the pain.
It is never one simple thing though, no one wakes up one day and decides to go kill a bunch of people. It is a long process, a long trip you could say.
The cancel culture likely has a big part on it.
Someone who has nothing left to lose is the most dangerous, by takings someone's job away for something they said or did. It could potentially be creating a mass shooter a few years or decades down the road.
Imagine someone doing pretty well, losing their job but no one else will hire them or they can only get cruddy jobs and after trying for years they lose everything they have. Their house, their spouse, their kids and others turn against them.
The others don't want to be part of the down fall even if they agreed with whatever it was and will abandon them.
Now they have nothing to lose and combined with no morals and thinking god doesn't exist, they plan, plot and execute a way to get back at society.
It isn't instant though, it takes a very long time.
Society needs to stop cancelling people, stop hurting people and star loving and believing in each other.

+1 yWe're sick in the soul from the moment of conception. If the treatment that is the Holy Spirit is absent, we'll at best have to keep putting a Band Aid on a cancer.
Once that fails, a purging becomes necessary for society to survive. The gangreneoof degeneracy must be burned down or cut off.
If not, the pain will fester, and some will grow to believe violence is all that is left.
Excessive mercy to the guilty and vile is cruelty to the innocent. The man who unleashes killer bees on a playground full of preschoolers is more to be reviled than the bees. The man who lets the wolf into the sheep pen, declaring the shepherd a bigot to keep the wolf out, is more to be punished than the wolf.
The night club that facilitates knowingly an exhibitionist chomo near children as a function, while trying to forbid entry to known dissident journalists, is more to face severe charges than the sicko that flashed his dick! And yes, that really happened!
Until we start caring to fight evil, it will grow. Guns are merely tools. And government intervention in healthcare has only made it worse.

+1 yClaiming that the ready availability of guns will cause people to kill each other is like claiming the full legality of marijuana in Mexico will cause people to become irredeemable pot-heads.
Now, it will enable those who already have an intention to kill someone the ability to do so more easily, no rational person is going to deny that, and on that basis, the argument that banning would save lives would seem to have some merit- until you remember what happened in 2020 to people who didn't have guns. Missed cancer and heart disease screenings alone over the last three years are going to cause more unnecessary deaths than firearms have in the entire history of the US.
That so many of the people who claim that banning guns will make gun crime decrease are the same people who claim that banning abortion won't decrease the number of abortions should also not be overlooked- this is about politics, not logic.
What's the solution? Logic and compassion. Stop ignoring mental health, put checks in place to prevent guns falling into the hands of lunatics, and SOLVE the damn problems that rampages are caused by, and the problems will stop.
00 ReplyPeople mistakenly put too much focus on the motive of evil villains.
Evil people do not necessarily need any motive other than evil itself.
Like the Joker in Batman, they simply enjoy being evil and enjoy inflicting harm on others. James Holmes was one of them, and they put him in a padded cell instead of executing him. He premeditated the bombing and distraction of the police and premeditated the mass shooting of the movie theatre, and yet the judge ruled he was "not competent to stand trial".
IF James Holmes was not competent to stand trial, then nobody is i guess, because he was not "lunatic" per se, he wsas deliberately evil and calculating nad even premeditated for months and did 'dry runs' of the mass shooting.
That is not incompetence to stand trial. that is cold blooded premediated mass murder, and the judge let him get away with it without even putting him on Trial. now he gets free medicine free food and free entertainment and free counseling every day on tax payer's dollar...
I wish arresting officers would do the world a favor in the case of mass shooters:
Put a bullet in the heart and another bullet in the brain and call it a day. skip the damn sham trials and pussified judges.

+1 yMass shootings are a complex and multifaceted problem that involves many factors, including mental health, access to guns, violence in the media and culture, school safety, economic and social inequality, among others.
It is difficult to identify a single cause or solution for this problem.
Some argue that one solution to prevent mass shootings could be increased gun control and restrictions on the sale and possession of firearms, especially those weapons that are particularly dangerous or high-calibre.
Others argue that the solution involves preventing violence in culture and society, increasing attention to mental health, and implementing school safety measures.
In addition, it is also important to take into account the need to address the root of the underlying problems that contribute to mass shootings, including economic and social inequality, social exclusion, discrimination, and lack of opportunities for young people and groups.
marginalized.
Ultimately, the prevention of mass shootings is a complex problem that requires a multifaceted response and a commitment to address both the immediate factors and the underlying causes.

+1 yActually neither of these will solve anything. There is a plot by our govt to take our guns. Does anyone know 5g's full capabilities or ever heard of voice to skull technology? It's where they can Target anyone in the world with 5g and through use of computer software speak into your skull, telling you to do whatever they want you to do. This voice isn't the same as someone talking to you, no, this voice is perceived to be your own thoughts, This is so debilitating that many will kill themselves or do exactly as told in order to make it stop. They used it in the guy who invented it and he killed himself because ît was more than he could handle and he was aware they were doing it. What is the one common theme amongst all of these shooters in schools and other places? They all began hearing voices. How can you prove someone is doing this if you were even aware of what was happening. It's pretty much a perfect crime to advance their agenda by getting inside of the public's hearts and minds by attacking the most precious thing on this planet, our children. But don't take my word for it, look it up. It was patented in 1996 and their are many other things they can do with 5g. Oh, and just do happens they installed 5g on to of nearly every school in America during the lockdowns.

+1 yOther countries have guns readily available to their citizens too but you hardly if ever hear about mass shootings. So it's not about guns.
America's problem is it has no real good solid identity as a country which not being homogeneous greatly contributes to the mass shootings besides the fact they have confusing vaules as a nation where men can now pretend to be women and women men such fantasy delusional BS and everyone who disagrees is attacked and labeled as a hater.
Lastly, Americans tend to live their lives as isolated individuals, you can live directly by your neighbors for 20 years and not know absolutely nothing about them including their names, not to mention family which often live far away from each other.
Living in a culture where individualism and greed and lack of trust in government is promoted you end up with a society that eventually breaks apart becomes frustrated, angry and lonely individuals began to irrationally begin to collect real or imagined grievances and make society pay for their misery.
10 Reply 1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The media spreads lies, frequently blocks stories that show reality, tries to encourage racial division (always mentioning race when it is White on Black crime, but avoiding mentioning race when it is Black against White crime which is MUCH more common and statistics prove it), and Democrats, FBI, and the justice department proven to purposely censor conservative ideas and censor truth while they frequently promote lies as true. Also, schools spread lies and encourage racism against Whites and Asians, and they encourage sexism against men. I've seen it myself multiple times IRL.
10 ReplyThe basic problem is that far too many idiots have easy access to guns. Now before anyone hits back with the tired and quite frankly asinine point that, "Guns don't kill people, people do", let me just add that a nutcase with a gun can cause far more serious damage in a shorter period of time, and do so more efficiently, than someone with just their bare hands, or even a knife, machete or baseball bat.
Guns were designed for one specific reason alone - to kill people. Sure, a lunatic can use his car to cause death and destruction, but again, someone with a gun is the deadliest creature on this planet by far. If you're "pro-life" then you should be anti-gun.

+1 yThe truth is one of the following options:
* we need to train and condition people better... and it may be too late for a whole generation, but can start.
* We need to kill off more people, the criminals, so they stop doing crimes
Banning guns when you let criminals go free with guns and knives and machetes, that's not going to work. Forget about jail for many, maybe it helps some. If they don't care, they should just be eliminated and start fresh. It's very hard to train people when they are set in their corrupt ways.
00 Reply The reason why the problem is framed as "mass shootings" is because then it makes it easy to point the finger at guns. Ideally, though, I think we can all agree that reducing not just mass shootings but all violent crime is the goal, right?
Black people commit the majority of violent crime, especially black people who are involved in gangs. Look at the demographics of the most violent cities in America. Places like Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, Gary, etc. They all have one thing in common. (And before you say it's because they're poor, then explain why the violent crime rates among poor whites and Asians are still much lower than those among poor blacks) What must be addressed is black criminality.
00 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Not a US citizen. It is clearly nutters that do mass shootings. It is hard to hate the number of people some mass shooters have killed. I would guess a mass shooter really wants to die in a blaze of infamy. I am trying hard not to offend American sensibilities but there is some logic to a solution. Identify nutters and give them electro-shock therapy to address their issues and lock em up as well or things along that line (maybe not so interventive).
Or make it harder for nutters to get guns.
There doesn't seem that many working solutions other than everybody else wearing body armor.00 Reply- 2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt's a mental health crisis, plain and simple. We need to bring back mental institutions. Instead of reforming them, we closed them. Now the mentally unhinged are free to integrate into the general population. We also need background checks that include mental illness run-ins with the law. Many mentally unhinged people are able to get away with purchasing "legal" firearms, because many of them don't have criminal records that would come up in background checks, despite having a history of "mental" red flags, which almost never come up in background checks. That needs to change.
01 Reply- +1 y
Good comments! You are right more than wrong. :)
About 10 to 30 times as many people are saved by guns in self defense than killed in the US, and that includes suicide. Democrats are ridiculous enough to blame Republicans in Congress for mass shootings, but defund police and let violent criminals go on bail and light sentencing. The problem is criminals know the corrupt judicial system will let them go because the corrupt judges feel bad for them. Notice you don’t hear about stabbings or, especially drug deaths that are over double gun deaths. Dems use mass shootings as a political weapon to take away our freedom.
IT ISN’T WORKING.
Gun ownership rates are the highest in decades.
00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Problem:
Lately I'm starting to side with the conspiracy theorists that many of the nuts doing the mass shootings are getting paid off by the extreme liberals in some way to commit this nonsense. Too many too soon together to be a common occurrence.
Solution:
If you want effective, common sense "gun control" in the United States, then form a commission consisting of the National Rifle Association, The Second Amendment Foundation, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, & the Constitutional Rights PAC, along with one member from each political party (Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Tea Party, etc.) to draft the legislation needed to curtail gun violence and Congress to pass it without changes or amendments.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIf society cared for and treated white males the way they do women. Then there would be less mass shootings.
but society doesn’t give a single fuck about male mental health, or well being at all. We have zero parental rights, a family court system bias against us, a media system that blames us for everything, no shelters, clubs, groups, housing, funding, health programs, etc for men only the way they do for women. No protection from female abuse and rape…etc
so white males get tired of being blamed for everything, not having a voice, not having support, being attacked constantly, being treated as disposable, and they snap.
00 Reply- 6.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yThere is no solution. People have been killing other people for ages. Improving the health care system to help detect... and treat... people with mental illnesses might reduce the numbers, but there will still be mass shootings, just hopefully fewer of them.
Having said that, putting some reasonable restrictions on guns (not banning them) and who can own what kinds might also help.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWell, I don't think it's going to work to ban guns but it seems there must be a way to keep the legal sale of guns away from people who are dangerous. Though no one has figured out a way to keep illegal guns away from dangerous people, (not completely though background checks are helpful), nor have we figured out a way to keep people from becoming dangerous.

I support society having guns because it keeps the government in check. And I think everyone should be allowed to have a gun in their own home for self defense. But guns should have a sort of tracking mechanism where if the gun is out of bounds from a person's home it alerts the authorities and the person is charged, or has his gun's confiscated.
