Do you believe rich people are lonely & money doesn't buy happiness?

I personally know some who are well off and live pretty comfortably making good money but always so attention seeking and seemingly lonely , with only a few friends one or 2

And always jealous of ones with less money & seeing them more happy. This girl I know for example is well off but always attention seeking with maybe 2 friends who she hangs out with occasionally

Yepp, that is a good observation. Most rich people are miserable creatures. More specifically, the culture at the topic is more or less toxic in that it promotes selfishness, greed and other negative human traits and emotions. If you are then going to begin socializing with this group you are going to be surrounded with mentally unhealthy people and if you try to associate with poorer people you are probably going to experience them trying to partake in your success, even if that feeling is just your own paranoia.

Of course, nothing about being rich says you have to be lonely and miserable but few rich people see the problem or at the very least, take the solution seriously. Things like going to therapy and working on self improvements can be seen as weakness or a waste of time. Rich people are often in a culture where they measure themselves by their success and try to solve problems with money.

In other words, if they feel sad then they can go out and buy something or get a service that momentarily makes them happy or alternative they can try to ignore the sadness by thinking they are too successful to actually be sad so they must be happy.

It is just a fact that alcohol and drugs are huge problems with rich people because that is the closest thing to "buying happiness" that you can get.

This gets worse and worse the higher up you go. Someone who is just wealthy from having a good job usually dont have as much problems with this toxic culture of success but its by no means guaranteed that they are spared.

Money doesn't bring happiness, happiness comes from love believe it or not, weither it's a romantic love or a sibling love or family love, no one really notices it until they are completely alone, that's when they feel the lack of love and they lose their happiness, they seek attention because attention is the closest thing to love, it's artifical love basically, money is just a paper that can basically buy everything that's physical but unfortunately for wealthy people that are alone, love isn't physical.

happiness comes from within. relying on external superficial factors is a roadmap to misery

wife/girlfriend got cancer and lost her hair? so what? learn to love her anyway

husband/boyfriend lost his legs, lost his job and lost his abs? force yourself to be happy anyway

Not always. I’m sure there are numerous people who are rich who are lonely, but there’s also a lot of broke people who are lonely as well. Yes money doesn’t get you complete happiness, but to a point it does. It opens many doors for different opportunities. I mean if you don’t think it buys some happiness send me your next check and I’ll show you just how happy it’ll make me purchasing some things and paying down some bills lol I mean if I won the lottery it would bring me a lot of happiness to take care of my family, set my parents up, donate to some organizations, etc.

some are happier, some are troubled... just as you see at any other socioeconomic bracket

It depends on the person. If you are a introvent person, you can be lonely. In other hand happiness dont always come with social life. Some people are happy when they are alone.
