depends on what you're saying. can you do something that's fun and makes you happy with money? absolutely. so therefore money "can" make you happy. however you don't "have" to spend money to get that feeling.
if you look at subjective measures of quality of life, there is a definite correlation between income and how high people subjectively estimate their overall life satisfaction. it's a positive correlation that is true up to a certain income. there is a ceratin threshold where the significance of the impact of income on subjective quality of life becomes too low to substentiate a claim for a connection. and this threshhold is fairly low. like actually slightly under the average income. so it's not that only rich people are above the threshold where more money doesn't have an impact anymore.
now that still doesn't mean money doesn't make you happy. but it seems the general experience of "happiness" is caused by other things than money.
Money helps with happiness make no doubt about it... but people who never had money don't know how to deal with money. So they cause more heartache for themselves when they miss manage it.
Money is not meant to be spent all the time it meant to provide security for yourself... but you got to know how to manage it. Now happiness is easier once you know your finically secure.
I think people confuse security and comfort with happiness.
Money does make the pursue of happiness easier. It makes you more open to the moments that can grant you happiness because you're not constantly exhausted by trying to figure out how to be secure and comfortable. Then we've people that will never be happy - because they'll always keep thinking more money, security and comfort will finally make them happy when it doesn't.

I know lots of people who are unhappy and have lots of money, some have even committed suicide and I've thought, what the heck.
If rich people are sad, clearly money doesn't buy happiness.
However I have two things I always say to this;
1. It does buy stability and security which while not happiness helps to lead towards it.
and
2. I'm willing to do a study on it, I just need someone to finance me with unlimited money and I'll document my results over a decade of long term study on it.
it depends on what makes you happy. i wouldn't say money is enough for most people to be happy, but i'm sure a lot of money will make some people automatically happy.
Usually that's the case, it's true. But the opposite is also true. People, who don't have money usually don't value money. Whereas people, who believe money to be of high importance are usually among the solid middle class or aim to join the middle or upper class.
Money can contribute to happiness. Using it in a way that benefits others is good.
—Providing financial stability for those you love is good.
—Money can definitely provide momentary happiness.
Those focused on money are the real losers at life. It's good to have but when it becomes your focus you'll never be happy. It's just another form of addiction
No, because rich people could be miserable. Like that guy who kept his dead wife in the kitchen for a month. You know who I mean.
100% fact. When you don't have lots of money you think you having lots of stuff is going to bring happiness but it doesn't.
It just gives you that initial high of having something new but the high fades within a week or month.
Cut the bullshit. Of course money makes you happy. It’s gives you the freedom to live life however you want.
I've never thought about it before. Maybe it's true.
Yes, and also a lack of objectivity.
You can’t buy happiness but with money you can pick your own kind of misery.
Money gives you a better chance at happiness
Have you tried drinking water?
You have a girlfriend?
So just the suicidal part
I think that it's the other way round - people WITH money believe that it's their road to happiness.
I’m not sure if people believe it but money can bring a lot of joy and sadness. It depends on the person and how they are able navigate life.
tell a homeless person that money doesn't buy happiness. see what they say.

true story...
A wise man once said money can't buy happiness... but it makes bieng unhappy a hell of a lot more comfortable
No, a lot of people with money think they will be happy if they just have a little (or a lot) more.
Money doesn't necessarily buy happiness buy being broke sucks.
Nothing is ever gonna make me happy
They are those who aren't spoiled
Are people who can't afford to eat happy?
Maybe, almost, not really.
Yes pretty much
