I was a lot more liberal when I was younger. I had little to no concept of money, hard-work, responsibility, and just the amount of stupidity floating around in this world.

People are selfish, they will always look for the easy way out, unless you incentivise them / punish them. I think a lot of liberal ideas sound nice, in a perfect world. But the world is far from perfect, and these so called "liberals" these days are more of a problem then a lot of the things they pretend to care about.

I want people to live how they want to live now, but that includes myself as well. I'm not gonna agree with things I think are dumb, just because it hurts someone's feelings, or it's not what most liberals believe, etc.

I'm less sympathetic to most people's complaints. I find there is a lack of accountability in society these days. It's always someone else's fault, there is always an excuse, there is always a victim. All of the people working hard, need to pay for and support those in need, and also it seems all of the lazy people with useless degrees who want things handed to them, etc.

I am no longer liberal, I am no longer conservative. I am just a human with varying ideas on different topics.

My overall philosophy of life these days is... most people are lazy, selfish, and stupid (at least in the US). If you can prove yourself to not be those things, you can be successful, but even that is not guaranteed. Just do your best, help those that actually need it, and fuck everyone else really.

I always had 1960s-70s liberal values - things like peace, love, open mindedness, tolerance, support for fairness, love of freedom and liberty, distrust of authority, and opposition to war.

My values haven't changed. But I used to think the Democratic party supported those values and the Republicans were the party of oppression when it came to being anti-civil rights, anti-women's rights, and support for authoritarianism and war.

I came to realize that there is little difference between neoliberals and neocons and that the Democrats do not represent my values. The party is completely dishonest and irredeemably corrupt. It does not work for the good of the American people or anyone else. It is currently working to tear this country apart.

I have not become conservative and I am not a Republican, but I find that I have less in common with modern liberals and Democrats than I do with conservatives and Republicans. Granted, I still have very little in common with the Republican party, but the Democrats are worse.

i went to quite a left-wing school (i'm also left) so all my close friends had and still have similar views and i didn't think about the right and assumed i would automatically dislike right-wing people, but then i went to uni and became friends with people with all these different political, social and economic ideas and just grew up basically lol, and i saw more stuff on the news and social media which i could understand why more, i now have views that are economically left but social views that go across the political spectrum, i don't exactly belong to the current young left i don't think but i'm definitely not right either

The University I go to is very liberal and I am too. There are a lot of far-left movements. However, I've been watching political commentaries on YouTube, such as Ben Shapiro, Lauren Chen, and Lauren Southern, etc. They are conservatives. So I am slowly changing my political views.

When I was in high school, if the president then would have acted like these ones recently, trying to overturn an election and hang the vice president, and make racist remarks, he would have been impeached by next week! lol.

In all seriousness though, America has gone soft. Everything is either racist or politically incorrect. You can't give an honest opinion anymore and you have to be very very very very very very careful what you say and how you say it. I am ashamed of some of these people! Ashamed!

Very few to none really, I am a very, very intense type of person who is like 40 and going on 90, so whenever I form my views I give them an impossible amount of unbiased thought before I take a side or from an opinion. After that , I keep always trying to play devil's advocate and learning more stuff, growing/re-checking myself constantly, but I have found very few places where I have changed my opinion, though I am always open to debate and alternate views. I am also acutely aware that there is always , your truth , their truth, and THE TRUTH.

One of the biggest realisations I got over the years is that politics is dominated by interest not by facts. The people that want to be politicians are people that love the spotlight. Politics is not about finding a solution for a problem but about being in power.
There is no party or group that can be trusted no matter what and many people that tell you they want to solve a problem actually lie they just want to be important.

I've become more interested in politics with age - it helped that I changed my nationality and got the option to vote but I've always had a social liberal ideology and the more I work within the welfare system - the more I learn towards social liberalism, we as a nation need to take care of those weakest.

i changed, i once was convinced that the American atomic bomb ended the war with japan. but as my mind developed i realized atomic uranium bomb is worse than chemical poison gas which can't be used to "end a war". also the dates dont match the surrender was not aug.6 gasp nor 8 until soviets invaded. the alternative is published in my blogs. truman d. n. c. is a horror story.

As I grew up I had more liberal to moderate views until I got to be in my 30's. Then until in my late 40's-early 50's I leaned to more moderate conservative views. Since then I realized both were full of horse dung and evolved to more libertarian views which I believe this country desperately needs to survive itself from the extremists on both sides.

As I've gotten older, I feel like I have gotten more liberal, like old school liberal like JFK or FDR. I do have some conservative leanings too, but I am pro-LGBT, Pro gun (with clean background checks and as long as it's not a AR 15 or AK47), Pro equality, and pro-social welfare systems as long as people are working, going to school, or volunteering to earn it.

I was Republican. I didn't leave them so much as they left me. Then I became a libertarian because I'm a big believer in personal responsibility and small gov't. But I'm cognizant now that most of what libertarianism espouse just is not possible for the United States. Like it or not we're a world leader we couldn't return to isolationism if we wanted to. Currently I classify myself as a Constitutionalist.
