What would happen if stringing along people was punishable by law?

I'm talking about those that purposely string along others, waste people's time, future faking, make someone waste money or years for nothing, etc.

What would happen if a new law was created and the consequence of doing that to others was punishable by 5-10 years in prison and a fine?

Imagine this was made into a law. Someone tries draining someone's money, they get punished and fined the same amount they took from that person. Someone waste 8-10 years of a woman's youth, keeping her as a forever girlfriend with false promises of kids, that person gets jailed for 8-10 years (the same time she wasted on him) and fined for emotional damage.

Wasting police time, court time, coercion, conspiracy to commit, etc etc are all along what you're alluding to.

I don't how you would PROVE such a thing. Yes I know it happens. To both MEN and women. But it's he said she said. What one would consider stringing along another would consider vetting. EVEN TO THEMSELVES. Some people lie to themselves.

Yes I'm referring to cases where there is solid evidence they got taken advantage of and they lost money, time or years in the process. It would make sense for the stringer (that's the term used for people stringing along others) to then get punished base on how they deceived the person. If some took half of their paycheck, they get jailed and fined that same amount of amount they took. If a woman's reproductive years got wasted, they get the same jail time... the same exact years they took from that woman and fined for emotional damage.

I get what you're saying. But like for example. I spent 5 years with a woman that I gave, gave, gave, and she took, took, took. Eventually I wised up and realized I would be nothing to her but a resource to be exploited. Then when I left her. She spent a year trying to get me back in her life (all while being in relationship and sleeping with other men) she didn't miss me, she missed my devotion. She didn't have me to exploit anymore.
It would be easy to blame her. She is a toxic person. I know that now. But I don't blame her I blame myself.
I guess what I'm saying is feelings are not always rationale. And we have to KNOW what OUR worth is and when to cut someone off. It was a hard lesson for me. But I'm a better person for having experienced her. I could regret the 5 years. I wasted on her or embrace the BIG lesson I learned from it.
