What are you’re guys opinions on Australia and how we act?

As a fellow Aussie I’m curious what you guys away from here think and wonder what we are like and what our country and culture is like.

I’ll answer from my perspective ❤️

If I ever become a published author, Australia is the first place I'm moving too. The weather seems better. It gets so cold here and I have to walk everywhere, and sometimes I can get stuck in the house for a long time when it snows.

I had a friend from Australia and she said it was a little more laid back, like there weren't many hate crimes and people weren't hating on each other because of race. The politics here are a joke. We have a decent system, but the people running it don't know what they are doing.

The constantly cut programs for nonsense. I worked for the government once. But yeah, I definitely want to move there when my writing career takes off. It seems so much more peaceful. Then again, I'm living in a town right now with drug addicts, drug dealers, and girls who have sex for drugs, so any place would be better than this town right now!

The beaches are nice in Australia. They seem so much cleaner than they do here. Like I'm not slamming America, but wow, my country is not what it used to be. Our last 2 presidents were embarrassments, the economy is so bad, a carton of eggs where I live is $5, and there's a lot of jobs open right now, but they don't pay enough to live.

I'm not sure what the citizenship laws are in Australia but if I can get residency, I would definitely move there. Hopefully I publish my books and get out of here. I imagine it would even be a more peaceful place to write!

From what I've read about, and seen on television, you all have almost Bristish sounding accent--only a little different in that it sounds almost like a dialect of what is spoken in the UK. I've seen some episodes of a show that focuses on weddings (something my girls got me into) and their planning, and it shows that you folks are enthusiastic, fun-loving, and caring. I don't normally judge people on what others say or think about them, because I know that there are all kinds of people (good and bad) included in all types of backgrounds. But that is what I have seen for myself.

As an Aussie, I find it funny how people who live in America say they won't ever visit Australia, because everything here can kill you. I'm like you guys have bears, wolves, moose, alligators that come to your home, among other animals that can rip your face off, you even have tornadoes and you are worried about our snakes and spiders.

I'll be completely honest, I used to love Australia as a kid, but now I think it's kind of boring and overrated. Almost no historic sites, except in Tasmania and Melbourne a little bit. And geographically, I actually find the country quite boring, except Tasmania and a few parts of Newsouth Wales. The wildlife is also kind of boring to be honest. Your biggest native animal is a kangaroo.

I live in the US and I think Australia is like a poorer version of the US. Not literally but figuratively, in the sense you have the same kind of environments and architecture as we do, only ours is far more impressive. You have the Great Barrier Reef, so what? The majority of your country is nothing but miles of vast nothingness. Plus it's so expensive. I honestly don't understand what all the hype is.

Also, I've met a few Aussies in my travels and the vast majority of them were, I wouldn't say standoffish, but they were definitely very serious and introverted. Like they don't trust anyone. I guess I expected Aussies to be like Steve Irwin, but they seem kind of boring actually.

I used to admire your government for its strict anti-Muslim policies, but now you guys seem to have gotten soft and woke.

I saw those videos of Lauren Southern and Avi Yemeni being threatened by your police. Oh, and Jim Jefferies is a fake, hypocritical, sociopathic asshole. That was really fucked up how he made Avi Yemeni look like a racist on his show. I'm glad Avi secretly filmed the interview.

Just for the record, I don't hate Australia or its people, I just don't understand what all the hype is about the place.

I don't know much about the country itself, and I don't think Crocodile Dundee was a good depiction of the average Australian.
You seem to be pretty crazy sometimes, but not so far from the other anglo-saxons people.

I don't remember interacting with Australians beyond cashiers at restaurants during my vacation there. We had taxi drivers but they all spoke Chinese so I viewed them as Chinese people and not white Australians who were born in Australia, being able to speak English without an accent.

You guys are great. But the deadly spiders, snakes, sharks, crocodiles, jellyfish, sea snails, rock fish, grass, trees, and drop-bears are a bit off putting.

When I visited, I half expected it to be like the final scene in Aliens, with people carrying flame throwers to protect themselves.

Seriously though - I had a really nice time. People were friendly and pretty much like people anywhere.

generally speaking, very proud people for no apparent reason at all, think of themselves as superior to many nationalities for no apparent reason, think they have a very "cute" accent when speaking what "they" call English, huge distances between places, really bad internet service, bad-dressed people with hardly any sense of fashion... please remember, i am talking in-general... many other countries have these issues and much worse but the Aussies are simply too proud for a backward country
