Gen Z is trying extremely hard for me to hate them more and more by the day.đ¤ https://www.cato.org/blog/nearly-third-gen-z-favors-home-government-surveillance-cameras-1

With common knowledge of the 2001 patriotic act and the Edward Snowden whistle-blower giving the details of said act. What other reality is there for gen Z? These acts and transgressions are no different then every day, the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars appear to rise in the east and set in the west.
We mearly adopted to the internet surveillance. genz was born it molded by it. All memes aside once millennials are the oldest crusty fucks in the work force active surveillance and storage isn't a thing but AI searchs are quick to get receipts.
As above, so below, Is just how surveillance is.
The reality where they help fight back, stage the Second War for American Independence, take stump grinders to faces of tyrants, and create a better world for everyone or die trying. Let the 2/3rds that don't want it rise up. As for the 1/3 that are sniveling cowards that want it? #LetThemShriek
Creepy. I would never comply with that. The colonists moved to the new world for freedom and a new start without King George ruling over them and declaring the "Church of England" was the one church. We fought a war to fight against the various controls put on us (Stamp/Tea/Currency/Sugar Acts... etc.). We didn't do all that so the fascist government could have absolute control over us... only drive this car, have to take a brand new untested vaccine, can't have a wood stove, you have to have cameras in your house for the government to watch... etc.
I'd never agree to anything like that.
A person would have to be completely out of touch with reality to not have a serious problem with this idea. Don't these people understand how important personal space and privacy are?
Apparently not. These are the same people that believe one can change their biological gender so there's that.
As gen z myself, let me give them piece of my mind. The cameras don't stop students from cheating in exams. Wtf do you think is the violent mugger gonna think? Oh no?
Even if it stopped abuse or illegal actively to some extent what moron would desire to have someone watching you in your own home 24/7?
Gen Z are some truly dumbasses.
The intention is good but it would only work in theory
The intention is evil to being with.
Most likely a creep is gonna watch the kids

I am a firm believer in privacy - but I also believe the battle has been lost. Over and over the public has show a willingness to sell their privacy for almost nothing. So, I think a surveillance state is inevitable.
I'll have to live in the world as it is, not as I wish it was
I hate what you are saying but I largely agree. I don't know how to put the surveillance genie back in the bottle.
@KrakenAttackin I don't think we can. But maybe we can at least try to push in a direction where the organization in power are ALSO subject to that surveillance. I really don't want a world where the govt can see everythign and people can't
Add somebody who is literally two years older than Gen Z (cut off it 1995 Iâm 1993) I say hell the fuck no. I donât support illegal activity, (except for people who smoke marijuana and states where is not legal, which is for at this point.) I donât want a surveillance date which is why I live in the mountains on 5 acres mostly by myself
If thatâs correct then theyâre idiots. Never mind the obvious invasion of privacy. Never mind it being unwise to invite the government into your home on that level. How will a camera prevent anything? Theyâll just watch you doing whatever until the police show up. Wonât stop much if anything and never mind the potential for that to be abused.
Cameras in public are one thing, which Iâm not against. Cameras in your home is an entirely different matter.
We have a security system and my wife wanted a separate camera in the living room in case it came to that if someone broke in and had a gun to our heads for us to disarm the system, etc. But itâs not government itâs the security companyâs camera we bought.
@tfan1. You security system should have a regular deactivation code AND a duress code that when entered stops the sound but alerts the call center that there is a real emergency.
@KrakenAttackin it does
This is what happens when you let your kids grow up with social media. Why would they care if there are government cameras in their home, most of them spend most of their time filming themselves and posting it for anyone to see. Many of these worthless narcissistic morons take and post pictures of every meal they eat!
This is one of those "studies" that I immediately write off as BS without bothering to read it.
I am almost always skeptical of studies and poll results. But in most cases I at least dig into it to find out how the study was done. In some cases, like this one, it's not even worth my time. I don't believe it for a minute.
They won't realize the folly until they're being loaded onto train cars. And then it'll be too late.
They will be the ones loading us.
@KrakenAttackin: Well have to shoot them first. They'll have to be truly delusional to imagine, as they invade our bunkers to load us onto those cars, as we're making our last stand, that they're the good guys in that conflict. And I will have no sympathy for them when the Avenger of Blood goes full Far Cry protagonist on their faces.
True enough. I came into this world kicking, screaming, and covered with someone else's blood. I intend to leave this world tfe same way.
@KrakenAttackin : We agree on something. I've never had to kill anyone yet. But that day may come, when I don't have a choice. Every day that isn't that day, is a blessing.
Not in my house.
The government can't even collect taxes properly. Let alone deal with rampant crime. I'll handle my own safety thank you very much.
My generation is full of babies. If that stat is truly representative of gen z's perspective then they are over trusting and lack any sense of privacy.
Didnât 1984 literally have cameras in everyoneâs homes that read their facial expressions to the propaganda being displayed all over their screens?
Cameras in public, okay. Cameras pointed at my home? No thank you, Big Brother. I'm a firm believer that government rights ends at my property line.
Make me think they would have loved to life in communist Germany
We have lost that generation. They will be nothing but Proles in the coming decades.
I am cool with it and I'm 29. Aren't I millennial then? Or am I not millennial lol? 😁
I'm not American, but even if I was, shrug I wouldn't mind. đđ
@stepyo99 think of it in a merry light (it's free home security, is it not)? đŹđ That article đđđ

These bastards will vote us all into FEMA camps.
I wonder if the cameras are bullet proof. ?
They're just kids. Kids are dumb
The only thing they heard was "prevent violence". I highly doubt any more thought went into it than that.
Though unfortunately, that's how a lot of voters are too
They aren't kids. 18-29 years old are grown folks already.
It's 18-27, and people under 25 are still kids in my opinion. If your judgment hasn't kicked in and your brain isn't fully developed, you're still a kid
Yeah sure, let them commit a felony and see where they end up wheather with juveniles or adults behind bars?
And the worst part is, they can vote.
Crazy, against it.
They are psychotic.
Ok, Boomer.
