I don't know exactly how it would happen, and this isn't my idea. Don't take the map literally, because it's just a graphic to explain the concept. I think it's the only way this can be worked out. The blue states can have their government and president, and the red states can have theirs. I would definitely be living in the red country, and these are a few of the things I would want.

*Not only the “wait in Mexico” policy, but the stay in Mexico until your visa arrives.

*Work visas would be issued for seasonal work

*Many more prisons would be built

*No more catch and release of criminals

*We would drill for oil

There would be less money for all that. We are stronger together. During the civil war the British and others supported the confederacy, not out of any malice but because a disunited United States would be weaker economically and would have less power when it came to trade deals.
