As someone with family from Mexico, I am acutely aware of the dangers that come with living in this country. While Mexico is known for its rich culture, kind people, and delicious food, there is a darker side to life here that cannot be ignored.
One of the biggest dangers of living in Mexico is the prevalence of crime and violence. Drug cartels and gangs are a constant presence in many parts of the country, and they are responsible for a significant number of crimes, including kidnappings, robberies, and even murder. Many people, particularly those living in impoverished communities, are too afraid to report crimes to the police, leading to a culture of impunity and a lack of trust in the justice system.
Another danger is the level of corruption that exists in many governmental institutions. Bribery is commonplace, and it is not uncommon for those in authority to abuse their power for personal gain. This can often lead to a lack of accountability and a feeling of helplessness among the general population.
Additionally, the country's economy has been struggling for years. Lack of job opportunities and low wages force many to turn to crime to make ends meet. This in turn has fueled the already significant problem of crime and violence in the country, as many individuals turn to drug trafficking and other illegal activities as a means of survival.
Furthermore, Mexico is located in an earthquake-prone region, which makes it vulnerable to natural disasters. The country has experienced several devastating earthquakes in recent years, leading to loss of life and property damage.
Finally, discrimination and inequality remain significant issues in Mexico. Minority groups such as indigenous people and those of African descent face significant discrimination and often have limited access to education and job opportunities.
In conclusion, while there are many positive aspects to living in Mexico, there are also significant dangers and challenges. In order to address these issues, it is important for the government and citizens alike to take action to combat violence and corruption, improve the economy, and promote equality and inclusion for all people. Only then can we move towards a safer and brighter future for our country.10 Reply

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI can’t truly speak on this. Because I’ve never visited any of those nations. And every nation has its good safe areas and its bad areas. Their own “HOOD” if you wanna call it that.
I myself am from a third world nation. So I get it. I truly would have to live for a while in any of those. North Korea seems to be more restrictive and strict, so I choose that one due to my ignorance and lack knowledge. But some say, that the only reason North Korean is painted 🎨🖌️ as evil is because USA has no access whatsoever to it.
USA and any other 1st world nation is not allowed to own or purchase or be a part of that independent nation. So what they do is paint North Korea, Cuba, and certain Communist nations as “EVIL”.

. Because these guys don’t have any control or access to them. And that’s what these leaders hate the most. Not having any control or supervision on a whole population. So that’s something to think about. But maybe I’m wrong, maybe those leaders are EVIL. Maybe our leaders are actually the EVIL ones.
Either way. WHO KNOWS 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️Just don’t believe everything you hear on TV. Govern-ment means MIND CONTROL.

732 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Purely based off murder rate, there are a solid 30 countries more dangerous than Russia, but Colombia is surprisingly dangerous. In all other regards, Russia & Colombia evidently take the cake.
In terms of women's rights, Russia is the most developed. In terms of religious freedom, Russia/Colombia are the most developed. In terms of food security, Russia/Colombia. In terms of healthcare, Russia/Colombia.
When it comes to this list, the only really bad thing going for Colombia is its murder rate. For Russia, it is potential targeting of Americans. In all other respects, there are dozens of countries which would be more dangerous (from the perspective of simply staying alive) to live in than either Russia or Colombia.
The problem of a country like North Korea is that no matter how smart you are, how educated, how whatever, because the country is always at risk of famine, if it happens, you're fucked.
The problem in a country like Russia is that many people feel hopeless and resort to bad behaviors: drinking, dangerous driving, risky experiments, etc. However, if you actually just don't do dumb shit, get a normal job and hang around normal people, your chance of survival will be vastly higher than in any of the other countries. Especially in one of the central cities, your life will be pretty good. I've had way more people tell me they prefer life in Moscow compared to Toronto than the reverse. I've been to Moscow and, despite being young, I can't outright discount what they said.
I visited San Francisco and it was way worse (in regards to crazy & homeless) than anything I saw in Moscow, for instance.10 Reply
+1 yFunny how North Korea (Number 12 on most lists) is getting the most votes when Afghanistan continuously ranks number on "Most Dangerous Places to Live" lists.
Most "dangerous" place I've been to thus far is Iraq which is 7th on the list for 2023. Lots of crime and attacks from ISIS. Made it out alive. I was visiting Shi'a religious sites which have been attacked before.11 Reply- +1 y

+1 yI’ve been to Sudan, Colombia and Somalia and honestly, they are beautiful places with beautiful people. Of course some places are rough and violence is rampant but which place on the planet doesn’t have issues.
Afghanistan was once a beautiful country. Still is but they haven’t recovered from the war and without quality leadership, the country will continue to suffer.
NK? Yeah, no thank you. Their leader is messed up big time. Made a serious example out of Otto Frederick Warmbier.
I cannot speak on Russia since I do not know enough.10 Reply - 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yN. Korea you can get by if you don't toe the line and don't cross it by all means. Afghanistan has a lot of rando "now you're dead" going on, especially if you're doctors without borders or some such nonsense that makes you think you're immune. My buddies say Somalia is a lot more like Detroit now... constant crimes, assaults, and whatnot, but the pirates have their area and you have yours and you don't mix and everyone gets by as long as you don't stand out. Columbia I actually enjoyed. Just stay low-key and don't scream "i'm a rich white person from the first world with kidnapping insurance and wealthy relatives" or something dumb. The others I haven't been to.

+1 yI won't lie, I have never researched countries outside of USA, Australia, Canada, Indonesia (Bali), Italy, France, and Bahamas. So i wouldn't even know where to begin. I just have no interest in the majority of international travel and suppose there are many dangers. From the choices in your poll, I would assume parts of Colombia and Russia are a little safer than the others. I don't know. Not tryna find out

Lmao i just googled all and all except for Colombia said Level 4 Do Not Travel 💀😩

Afghanistan actually became the first country since centuries where women and girls can't go to work or school so I am definitely sure no women or girls who lives outside of Afghanistan would risk it

I watched this movie. It was heartbreaking

Yes, Afghanistan is definitely far behind in terms of human rights well them and NK ironically both countries are Asian.
- +1 y
Yea that won't stop me from dating Asian dudes. But like i said, I was never trying to leave the country aside from potentially visiting AU/CAN/Bahamas

Makes perfect sense, I guess not everyone is into traveling to foreign lands.

+1 yAs an American, living in Afghanistan would be pretty dangerous.
It's interesting that North Korea is the overwhelming choice. Its government controls things so much, I don't think it would be dangerous to live there... not much fun, but not dangerous.

+1 yI truly don’t know.
I picked Afghanistan purely because I heard a few years ago about how they treat women. Then there was the whole fiasco with Malala Yousafzai who is from Pakistan. However from articles I’ve read Pakistan and Afghanistan are very similar.
On the other hand I don’t know much about all the countries shown above. So I’m purely basing my decision on facts that I know.

+1 yUSA or Canada
Why
Because with the other countries you know its a dictatorship
In USA and Canada
They are under a secret dictatorship and make you think your vote counts.
Like they have to know everything about you.
That's why the cellphones are the microchip in Disguise.

+1 yMost of those places it depends on where you are and your position in society. I've visited Russia in the past but wouldn't visit any of those today.
13 Reply- +1 y
So Russia is your least dangerous out of the bunch make sense but I definitely would be extra concerned especially with all the war happening over there.
- +1 y
I wouldn't visit Russia now. The US and Russia are almost at war, and I wouldn't trust Russia (or N. Korea) not to take me as a political hostage. They've done it in the past.
- +1 y
Both countries do take people as hostages coming from an American myself

+1 yHuman trafficking is really heavy and dangerous in Russia so I picked Russia out of the countries listed.
15 Reply- +1 y
I always wonder what is the point of human trafficking? Is like selling people or anything else?
- +1 y
It is selling people for sex and a lot of times it's just children which is so sick and twisted.
- +1 y
Gross actually in Afghanistan most teen boys or little boys get sold as sexual dancers for a bunch of grown men. Yes I ain't never going there.
- +1 y
Oh wow that's awful. Didn't know that.
- +1 y
Yes it's a pretty bad nation of young boys go through that I can just imagine how awful women and girls are suffering over there.
Good list. All are at the top of bad. Sudan and Afghanistan scare me the most, Sudan always seems to be in the verge of civil war
11 Reply- +1 y
That's unfortunately true, Sudan is always in war among it's general population.
5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's definitely not Russia (shouldn't even be mixed in with these), and it's most likely either Somalia or North Korea, though for different reasons. Afghanistan would be a close third, followed by Sudan, then Columbia.

If you added China to your choices, some people might have considered that.
Meanwhile, I picked North Korea from your list of options.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI would think Afghanistan. I think read somewhere that is has like one of the lowest standard of livings. I'd imagine hits hard to even get a job at Falafel hut there (thier version of pizza hut). If you're not getting your head cut off by a jihadi for whistling a showtune your getting a leg blown off by a landmine left by the Soviets occupation. Though it might be ok assuming you have enough homies to defend your mud hut they call compounds there.
