Just as a response to several answers claiming that gun control causes higher violence. You will notice none of those answers have any facts linked to them, because the facts disagree. A very small amount of research on google can show you the proof of this. Here is a little info from statistics, an unbiased form of simply counting numbers. You can see that red states (conservative, republican, gun promoting) make up the majority of the violent crime states, and that the blue (liberal, democrat, gun restricting) states on the list all have very loose gun laws, allowing anyone to carry a gun openly, without a permit:
"According to the 2018 FBI Violent crime statistics, the 10 states with the most violent crimes per 100,000 people are:
Alaska 885 (RED)
New Mexico 856.7 (BLUE, open carry allowed without a permit)
Tennessee 623.7 (RED)
Arkansas 543.6 (RED)
Nevada 541.1 (BLUE, open carry allowed with no registration or license neededl)
Louisiana 537.5 (RED)
Alabama 519.6 (RED)
Missouri 502.1 (RED)
South Carolina 488.3 (RED)
Arizona 474.9" (BLUE, open carry ages 18+, concealed carry no permit needed 21+)"
Yet despite these facts, gun promoters still claim the opposite, that having guns keeps them safer, and not having guns is more dangerous. Even when kids die in gun accidents that simply wouldn't have happened if the gun wasn't there, they find some way to assure themselves that having the gun was safer. I've got no real beef with guns, I've considered ownership myself. But it would be nice if gun promoters were just honest with themselves and each other: they like guns, and so it doesn't matter if it's actually more dangerous, it makes them FEEL safer, and that's what matters to them.

USA is dangerous period.
They initiate almost all wars but disguise themselves as the "helpers"
for example the situation in ukrine was initiated by usa and nato and but the our media paints it as war between ukrine and russia. Any slight of the truth coming out they quickly try to bring up the next news as fast as they can to say "there is no proof", and the average non sayer will believe it without looking for there at there is proof that what the media calls "false" information or "lies".
usa is threat to world peace and initiates wars in other places then pretends to be of "aid" just to prevent anyone from attacking usa
it's a sick immortal tactic that works while it brainwashes the world.
when you are ignorant of this reality, (we living in usa) feel lucky, happy and don't give a shit about other people being bombed. The only times we care about them is when our media decides to bombard us with their death photos and blaming a culprit for the sole purpose of fulfilling an agenda. In this case World hatred toward russia.
they never bombarbarded us with all the other deaths. Not when ukranians were bombing their own people, not one single photo or news page of those innocent dying people
not when we bombed syria, who gives a fuck about those innocent people, our media didn't show us so we don't care.
not when we bombed Iraq, who gives a shit about them too, our media only told us we got the "bad buys" we missed all the good people and those who were killed who were innocent were just "accidents" and do not deserve any reporting,
nor do they deserve any help as oppose to now we are bombarded with help pages for ukraine anywhere you look "help ukraine", want to watch tv "help ukraine" , want to shop online "help ukraine" want to hear the radio "help ukraine", want to go out side, billboards "help ukraine" ...
but fuck all the other dying innocent people. they don't deserve anything according to your media so we the people therefore in turn do no give a fuck. we only care about what our media tells us. we also do not care about what is true or lies, we blindly believe our media.
sick world.
Anyhow, as far as visiting goes. Our media also tells us it's more dangerous to go to other countries and you are safe here.
The only reason I somewhat do believe this is because other countries are soooo poor that the authority will turn a blind eye if offered money where as here, you're likely safer because authority is not likely to do that. not saying they won't, I'm sure they have, just maybe not as much as in other countries..
having said that.. anywhere you go, especially if you do not know the language, do not stray away from tourist cities.
I believe going into villages in any country even in usa, is where you can place yourself in danger. Stay in tourist locations when visiting any country unless you know the language well and have family there then your danger level reduces.
Just stay out of big liberal cities, like San Francisco, where they don't even bother charging criminals with crimes or they let repeat offenders out due to covid so they can keep on re-offending over and over and then they don't take rapists and sex offenders serious.
If you go into conservative states and away from larger cities, generally your fine.
Number of guns doesn't make it unsafe, if you think about it... someone really can't use more than one or two at a time. Having a 100 won't mean they are firing a 100 at once. 99% of legal gun owners aren't the problem, most of the crime with them are from the illegal gun owners who don't follow the law anyways.
Absolutely not.
I mean it isn't quite Iceland or Norway in terms of safety, much of Latin America has higher crime rates and general danger. Parts of the middle east are dangerous for travels, and I know my mom needed some training before she took contracts in Malaysia and the Philippines.
I'm certainly someone who is critical of America, but it's also important to have perspective, as I think some critics are a little too targeted at our faults. In some countries, the people are living more on the edge, there are strong anger ethnic tensions, government corruption is more blunt, and they have limited law enforcement infrastructure that are usually focused on the richer parts of the country. Not to dismiss the amazing progress many of these countries have made. But it takes a certain kind of culture and economy to create what northern Europe has. But I would say the US is probably the safest in the western hemisphere, only behind Canada.
Also keep in mind a disproportionate amount of the guns are owned by people in rural communities. Some for hunting, but still probably most for self-defense, since tax dollars don't serve rural communities as well. If you're out at the farmhouse, the police aren't going to stop a home invasion, and an ambulance isn't going to save you. It is an extremely rare occurrence, especially these days, but it does make more sense to have that line of defense out there, even if you are more likely to use it for suicide than defense.

Everything that you said is kind of true but it's still one of the stake this countries also even though everybody acts as if they hate each other when it comes down to some kind of chaos or some kind of natural disaster everybody pulls together put all their bulshit aside you would absolutely love it if you came here the part that we all hate because we live here is we hate the government and what they do and what they're doing because it's all from greed and it's all about them it's not about the little people like it was supposed to be meant to be but no you wouldn't even know anybody had a gun people are just people most people are cool it's just everybody gets caught up in all the bulshit is going on but you would never know it
The number of guns has nothing to do with it. People have them for self protection in case of emergency, sport and other reasons, not for aggression. Guns make people safer because they deter criminals.
Given the number of gun related homicides, you have about a 0.00045 chance of being murdered, and far less if you stay out of bad neighborhoods. If you visit tourist areas, national parks, scenic rural areas, and nice parts of town, you chances are even far, far less.
In the UK or France, you have about a 0.00005 chance of being murdered.
The U. S. is far from being the Wild West as it is portrayed in countries that use constant media propaganda to make their citizens feel good about their gun laws.
Mexico has strict gun laws but people talk about how dangerous it. However, I've been to Mexico many times and never had a problem. It depends on what areas you go to.Depends where in the USA. Interestingly, there are fewer gun crimes where responsible civilian ownership is common. Where it's taboo only the criminals have them.
Being defenseless is not a virtue, a lot can happen while you're waiting for police protection.Absolutely. Stay away and tell all of your friends to do likewise.
Honestly, following the evening gun fights, it is becoming a chore to remove all of the dead bodies every morning. No it’s not. You’re much more likely to get murdered or raped/sexually assaulted elsewhere.
wrong on both accounts actually.
Only a small minority actually own guns. and mass shootings aren't "frequent" though it is a problem here. Same for all countries, if you stick to the normal places, you'll be fine. Go hunting for illegal drugs, sex etc, and there could be trouble. No, no more dangerous than Europe. When I lived in the US, I felt safer there than when visiting some European Cities. Now like anywhere, you could enter a dangerous area, but generally the US is a cool place to live.
Probably if you think of it that way. If you are realistic though, most crime is crime of opportunity. That can happen anywhere. Revenge and premeditated danger is way down the list and doesn’t usually happen to tourists.
No, as long as you stay away from cities with democrat leadership you are pretty safe. LA and San Francisco have turned into no man land and Seattle and Portland oregon are following it. Then we have Chicago, New York and Washington DC.
Lol sounds like leftist puke right there.. The places with the least gun control are also the places with the least crime and violence.. The places with the most gun control are the most violent, most crime.. Leftist policies enable that. So, you will be safer in red states than you will be in blue states.
No, it sounds worse on paper, mainly as they keep statistics.
Try travelling through Africa …Let's see. We in the U. S. have the most guns and we're arguably the country with the most freedom. China and North Korea have the fewest guns and have the least freedom. Hmmmm.
It's only dangerous around the cities. Where they have plenty of gun control.
Everywhere else is safe. Especially where the good guys live and keep not only safe, but clean.no, it's quite safe for the most part. although there are a few places that it'd be best to avoid, but that goes for every country so-
Yes, their gun murder rate is like 10 times higher than Canada. They have an insane gun culture
LOL no.
I feel safer in the US than my country.
In the US, things doesn't randomly explode in the US, no one really tries to kidnap us and chop our heads off if we cannot/do not pay ransom...I wouldn't go there but its your government that concerns me not the gangs or random criminals.
The mass shootings are bullshit by the way, it isn't real, its theatre.
You are being lied to.Democrat cities that outlaw guns are generally the most unsafe. So i personally wouldn't visit them. But conservative areas with little gun regulations are quite safe for the most part. Especially if you yourself choose to carry a gun yourself.
I go to the US almost every month and never felt I was in dangerous or witnessed any time of crime.
Not even in your fondest dreams.
Go to Honduras.
