Half of the country (like the morons on The View,) called the cop a murderer, the other half said he was a hero. The experts said that a knife that size to the heart would be worse than a bullet. Someone was going to die. The cop had to decide who would die.

Of course the cop was charged with murder, but the grand jury cut him a break. Should the cop have called a social worker with a really fast car?

If it were me, I would let the woman with the knife kill the other woman. I would be fired, but at least not facing life in prison for doing the right thing.

This happened in my hometown. He wasn't charged with murder, however his case was sent to a grand jury. They declined to bring charges. It's ridiculous that it even went that far. I would have done exactly what he did. There was nothing else he could do. All the people that say he should have aimed for the arm or leg know nothing about firearms training. I don't care how good you are, a smaller moving target is almost impossible to hit and not guaranteed to stop the perpetrator if by some miracle you do hit it.

Had he drawn his weapon and aimed at a moving arm, the other women would probably be dead. I'm not saying which woman was the villain in this fight, but the cop who responded to the call, was put in an impossible situation.

If you watch the video, it almost looks like she waited for the cop to arrive then ran back out and started attacking people. That neighborhood was once decent place, now it's just a craphole.

I would shoot the aggressor. That's not an easy shot to make in the heat of the moment - on a moving target - either. You would not even have time to aim. You would have to get a perfect shot on first attempt just from instinct alone. Only a guy who has trained a lot would be able to make it and not hit the victim or miss completely. Not only that but shooting somebody doesn't instantly drop them like it does in the movies unless you hit the right spot.

I wouldn't call her an idiot. A lot of people don't know the first thing about this sort of stuff, especially the kind that has only ever seen guns in action movies. A lot of people just hear that police aren't supposed to kill, but they have no idea of what that actually entails. Even when the target isn't squirming together with the victim, even when there's no pressure, no adrenaline, no fatigue, no stress, even very well trained policemen and soldiers can be way more inaccurate than people think. Though I would really blame them for thinking that, considering how few Hollywood movies actually depict guns realistically.
Genuinely, one of the most impressive shots I've seen in a while is Kyle Rittenhouse, not that most people would know it, since media often portrays him as a murderous lunatic with no restraint.
