I like to think I'm a good officer. I'm a corrections officer, not a cop, but corruption is stronger in jails because we have more latitude to act than cops do. Unlike most COs, I actually go cell to cell and ask the inmates if they need anything. I bring a notepad and pen so I can write a list. If it is an absolute need or a want I can grant, I will do so. If the inmate is asking for something they know they cannot have and they're just screwing around, I'll laugh with them and tell them no. I do not lose my temper. Other COs ignore the inmates until something goes down. If an incident goes down, the inmates know I will be forceful to end it but I'll still be fair. They also know I won't take a COs side who is plain wrong. This approach has earned me the inmate's respect. When I become a cop I plan to keep using this approach.

Good cop. And I almost was a cop, but most cops I've met weren't nice people (nothing like the way BLM portrays them to be, but cops seem to get off on arresting people, like many of them crave Schadenfreude or something). Cops also risk their lives for an ungrateful society, even if that ungratefulness can sometimes seems warranted (when it's not a dangerous criminal, and they're arresting people for weed or jaywalking or something).
Anyway, I didn't want to be a cop, but I did do three years of concert security, bouncer work, and executive protection (bodyguard work) from 2011 to 2013, which is pretty similar, except you don't get to arrest people. I wore a dark blue uniform in the security job as well, so it was basically like being a cop without arresting powers or a gun.
The main thing they teach you in training is the five levels of force. Physical presence (you being there is a deterrent), polite warnings, stern warnings, physical force, and deadly force. There's a reason they exist. Not only does it save you a lot of trouble and not only is it easier, but people are actually more grateful to you when you treat them like human beings, instead of getting a hard-on for hurting people or getting physical with them.
Some of my co-workers were ex-cons (ironic, I know), and regardless of the male of female staff, I was always the most level-headed, calm, and rational one, which is also ironic, because most people annoy the sh*t outta me. But beating them up for that is just morally wrong. In fact, one of the worst and most aggressive ones was this 5'5" blonde woman I worked with. A total Karen at age 23.
So what I guess all of this comes down to is, police officers are likely just like people in any other job: Some are good, some are bad. The only reason cops get more flack for it, is because they can arrest or even kill you for them being assholes. Like the whole Derek Chauvin/George Floyd retardedness. Regardless of media influence, I think both parties were in the wrong there, but after looking at the evidence, it seems like Chauvin was less guilty of wrongdoing. Yes, cops do need to be held accountable for things because of the responsibility they have, but just like in my security job, sometimes you just gotta to get physical with a motherf*cker. Ironic the ones least likely to understand this are the most violent thugs and human trash in America right now: Black Lives Matter. There's a time and a place for both there are many times where every cop in the world would you love to be in that photo right there and being that cup with so many times they never get that opportunity because there are fucking Prix in the world did her fucking mentally Disturbed you like to rub things that likes to rape people that like to act out of control because they have no self-control and that's when you have to become a backup a badass cop those guys have the worst job in the world and they get no respect I'll be 100% honest with you I don't like cops but I will back cops I don't like some of the things they do but I understand why they do the things they do because they don't want to get fucking shot that's why they want to go home that night their mentality has to be fuck you I'm going to fucking shoot you before you fucking shoot me and that's the way it has to be at the same time with wise Judgment at the same time looking over your shoulders spinning around in circles looking everywhere finding out who else is around all those people that give cops a bad name or bad time I guarantee it you wouldn't last 10 minutes
I'd be a good cop. I've done security ice worked at bars and fast-food jobs where you had to deescalate fights guest, patrons, homeless people, drunk people.
I've also been shot at, mugged at gunpoint on multiple occasions so I know the difference between danger and not.
And I'm a gun owner.
I would like to believe people are good cops or civilians. But I'm aware people are evil and self perseveration needs to always been the goal.I was a volunteer sheriffs deputy and worked weekends. I like to think I fulfilled my duties well. I resigned after I saw my chain of command throw a friend of mine under the bus due to political pressure. The last video upset me so much. You have no idea. All of those officers should be stripped of their gun and badge. Then let the judicial system deal with them. Absolutely disgusting.
I would be a cop. I do not believe there are "good cops" or "bad cops". Some professions simply can't have "bad apples". Imagine people accepting that there were "bad pilots" who may or may not decide to make an emergency stop into the side of a mountain.
No, you are either a cop or you really should not be one.At this point, I would kill every single one of you.
If cops were smart that would leave any area that wants to defund them. Just leave en masse and the ones that are left should never leave the station house.
If idiots claim that they dont want or need police then make their dreams come true and don't give in when a few people get murdered. Lets the crime and body count climb towards the sky.
Let BLM keep the peace and we'll see if they allow skinny white boys and girls to video tape them while screaming at them. I pray every night that a cop just snaps and start executing all of these losers with a single shot to the head eachI hope I would be a good cop in that I wouldn't arrest people for stupid things and I wouldn't brutalize people or beat them up for no reason and I would try to be kind everybody I encountered. I think being a good cop would be a difficult task and quite honestly I wouldn't want the job.
I would be an awful cop lol I won’t enforce drug laws, or anything against prostitutes and their johns, I would definitely arrest my ex and plant a shit ton of drugs in his car etc.
But I would be highly protective of people and I’m not out to screw them over like a lot of cops seem to get off on doingI would be a great cop, because the woke would love me. I'd ONLY go after white criminals.
President Kamala would invite me to her white house, and offer me a cabinet position.Good cop! I was last night. Hubs and I were sussing out which child stole and ate 4 plain taco shells (🤣). I was right by the way and I said one thing as good cop and the kid caved. Lmao
I would make an absolutely atrocious police officer. My social skills away from the keyboard are abysmal, I don't like guns, and my instincts (aka, 'gut feelings') nonexistent, so I would always find myself in dangerous and unexpected predicaments.
I intend on being a good cop and taking thugs off of the streets and keeping them in jail for as long as possible while they await trial.
I would be a good cop. I would serve my community, protect people and uphold the law.
OMG, here comes the onslaught of clueless comments.
I would use humor to disarm people. You can completely change a situation with humor.
I would be a dirty cop take 40 percent cut of all the drug dealers and smugglers profit and free product
A quarky detective that meanders around in his investigations; but always manages to get the culprit.
I would be good for good ones but very bad to those one who do crimes
I guess it's difficult to be good one. It's an occupational hazard. It gets you sooner or later.
Probably a cop out, but I would be a COPywriter.
