Men literally work themselves to an early grave.
Would you rather have a 30% raise in salary or six more years of life?
Men literally work themselves to an early grave.
30% increase in salary because with my genetics and lifestyle I am likely to live at least to my mid 90s already. 30% is a large increase for only 6 years at the end of life and would likely mean a better quality of life for the other 50+ years I have left.
30% raise in salary seems more beneficial to my family. I am also very big fan of Japanese old school way that if I become nothing but a burden to my family, I just leave or commit suicide. No nursing homes for me.
My grandmother did that. She became senile and barely able to move and committed suicide as she started to become a burden to the rest of our family by going to a mountain and dying there. I think that is so honorable way. I want to do the same if I become like her so that I relieve my loved ones of the burden of taking care of me.
I'm with you on that.
I think even Christians would have a hard time disagreeing with that since, to my understanding, Christ committed suicide for the betterment of people. He knew he was going to be crucified. One thing we have in our culture is idea of noble suicide that I think is missing sometimes in the West.
Very true.
@Juxtapose I definitely want to do so also and might end up guilty of doing that! But I admire people who don't and hope I can be like them.
Salary increase is good.
my grandma lived till her 90s. My mom is still very healthy around 80…I’m sure I’ll live till my 90s as well. I am okay giving away a few of my years for those who could benefit from it.
Actually…I’m okay giving away 15% out of the 30% to others who need the money more than me.
I am satisfied with what I have.
Update - don’t focus on the negativities of this society. Focus on living healthy, bettering yourself and making enough money so you don’t have to worry about finances.
Thinking about what you wrote makes me feel sad.
@midnightmoon05. Overwhelmingly, men have to focus on obtaining resources. Just getting by and self fullfillment are pipe dreams.
I'll take the six years. My salary sucks and 30% wouldn't make much difference.

Right now with cost of living pressures I'd take the payrise. 30% extra for the next 25years adds up. Much more resource for my family, I can retire early and enjoy my retirement, not be forced to continue worling
I'll take 30 % increase in salary.
Since I’m only 24 I will say 30% raise in salary
they might not even be good 6 years, you might be too old for it to matter, with 30% more money you can enjoy ALL your years
6 more years younger, 100 to 106 is still nothing.
Money. I'll make more out the my remaining years.
I’ll take 6 more years so I make it to retirement with some years after
i will take the 6 years.
Six more years of life.
Per your update: Yeah could be but I don't know if that's working on a job necessarily that they work themselves to death unless they do a very physically demanding job, I know plenty of men who sit behind a desk and do computer stuff or business type work. It seems when men and women retire that men might be more likely to do the more strenuous chores. I can only base this on my own family and neighbor hood of course because I have no official studies but the men in my family and neighbor hood tend to do more yard work, chopping wood, building things hunting etc. when they retire while the women more indoor work cooking, putting up curtains, changing the furniture, planning vacations etc. (Just as a general rule ofcourse) So, that wouldn't really have anything to do with the pay gap but just an observation I've noticed.
All about the money and I'll die with it
Give me 6 years, you can't buy time.
If I'm living to 90 you can take 6 years off me.
I want the money lol
Six years.
