What are your current longterm responsibilities (e. g. longterm family, children, mortgage, debt, etc) vs your objectives (to learn some new skills, to get more experience, change of country/city and need a stable foot in, etc).
Once you establish your priorities, the peaceful stable job may take precedence over the higher salary and vice versa.
Know what you need. As a generalization, companies paying at higher salary rates are doing so on shorter term contracts or their yearly increments aren't significant. People usually leave due to the pressure involved.
How much higher we talking here? If it's truly an upgrade and worth the money? Absolutely.
What? I have no shame in admitting I like money, lol. If you want something bad enough, you work for it.
Actually, I gave up a relatively high paying job earlier this year in exchange for a quiet, drama free, stable job. And I'm quite happy. It wasn't a huge decrease in pay (just a dollar or so), but there are times I do miss the extra money when I want to splurge a bit. Nonetheless, sometimes your sanity and piece of mind is better than money.
I don't like the word "peaceful" in there.
Would I quit a job that helps me grow for a better salary? No.
Would I quit a job that constantly challenges me for a better salary? No.
Would I quit a job that is modern in practice and listens to its employees for a better salary? No.
Would I quite a "peaceful" job for a better salary? Damn, I'd do it (and I did it) for even less salary.
I'm not 60, a job where I'm in my comfort zone is not for me.
Absolutely. I want to retire early someday. This is why there is a gender pay gap, because women will stay in an easy job that doest require much more work and stress whereas for men they wouldn't even think twice moving states or countries, working longer hours, taking a risk.

Really depends on a lot of things and stage of my life, in the peaceful job do i have strong friendships or more leisure time to commit to personal relationships or individual interests?
Do i have ypund children to be attentive to and want to keep some energy for? Does my wife work a lot or is she wanting me to be less stressful.
Am i passionate about either jobs or the jobs mission (eg charity).
Id probably swap between the two at different points, like a peak and trough sometimes chasing money and stress then getting fed up and looking for peaceful, then geting restless and around again.
No, I would rather go the opposite direction actually, not that my salary is that high but it is pretty good and I do not find the work fulfilling, I would rather have work I like more at a lower salary and it is something that is on my mind for the future.
Mmm I would try to tough it out for a while just to build up some money. But I noticed a lot of jobs these days that have a high level stress/demand is making a lot of people quit or just burn out. One of my coworkers tried to work for usps I think in the mail room.. can't remember the position exactly, and she said that position had a high turn overrate. Nobody lasted very long but stayed long enough for a check.
“Peaceful” jobs don’t usually pay well. So… yeah. All things being equal, of course i’d prefer a safe, calm and manageable work space over my norm. It simply doesn’t work that way. I make a decent wage because i might not make it home on any given day. You’re welcome.
Not sure what peaceful means here but a competitor would have to be able to offer me the same long term job security for me to consider switching at anything close to my current salary.
Obviously the more they offer the more risk I am willing to take on.
I was laid off from a really lucrative job. It was pretty crazy and I was often tired at the end of the week. After I got laid off I had to take a job for half the money. It was a good quality of life job with lots or time off. Still, I missed the money and missed all the action.
Happiness is in some ways more important than money. Probably will be less stressful and you may live longer and stay healthier.
If you are making enough money and benefits to live comfortably on your current job. Only you can answer this question 🙋♀️!
I tend to find a job has a lifetime and when it's finished, it's time to move on. Which is easier to do when you are not caring a family behind you.
So no, I would not move on unnecessarily while the kids have needed schooling and the company I'm working for are offering enough variety and money to sustain me. But when it's over, it's over.
The real question is, do you work to live or do you live to work? Is you career the most important thing in your life? Is your family the most important thing to you. Does having a family and a loving home your number one goal. Is two vacations to Paris every year and a life style like the rich and famous all that matters to you. Most people are so self centered that themselves are the only one they love.
if i am capable of paying my bills, putting food on the table i would be content but sometimes making much more $ can take a toll on someone physically and mentally like a documentary I saw recently from former Texas and Florida death row executions which after 10 years since their resignation, some committed suicide and others suffer from severe PTSD.
Not unless I really needed the money, which I don't. I value my happiness above all.
When you think about it working at a job you hate is counterproductive. Bad stress can have a negative effect on your health and lead to a shorter life. Which in turn can shorten your income earning years. In short working at a job you hate even though it pays better can be a wash in the end. Or potentially can cost you money.
If I was sure I could make it work sure without question but if I thought I’d only be able to hack it for a short time and there was no training then nah play it safe but if there was training I’d give it a shot and take a chance
Depends on high it is. If it's like higher than the peaceful one, I'd consider it. Depending if I hit my dream or not. If I have, then probably not.
I don't know thats difficult. I would want to work where i feel comfortable at and that i enjoy. But i also am obsessed with money
It depends on the job and if it's as peaceful or more peaceful. If it's more stressful, than likely not. I value my sanity much more than money.
I work to serve God and not to make money so I would not work in a bad environment just because it pays more.
What would be considered a higher salary in this case?
Only if I needed to. But if I'm economically stable then I'll take peace over more money. There's much more to life than money. I'm doing well anyway so I'm happy where I am.
Yes. I currently have a job that pays almost 16 per hour, and I would Hella quit my job because I have better career opportunities with my higher up bosses
Yes 1000000000% I’d endure the suffering to offer decent things, respect to my family. So yes.
Nah. Money is alright, but it doesn’t bring me peace
No, I get “Free Rent” here and all I can eat
Good Q. Some can’t handle it. My wife’s job is so intense two of her underlings had massive anxiety disorders.
yes. in the office world, higher salaries mean you don't have to do shit.
Only if the people in charge are not idiots and actually let me do my job. Sure.
At this age I’d quit for the money. A peaceful job would bar me from challenges followed by lowered progress in management skills.
Lol peaceful. Anyway YES! Well what would that job be?
I probably would. I never had a job that I would call peaceful.
Probably not. Peace is hard to come by unless we are talking double the amount.
My 'job' is not peaceful, and I can't quit.
:)
Surely yes.. I can handle pressure of strict SLA and timelines...
Given I love what I do and live very comfortably on 6k a year, no
I don't have a peaceful job so yes.
Not in a million years.
My job isn't peaceful, so absolutely yes.
No,, I'll stick to my comfort zone.
I would if I was in need of cash
Nope, happiness is more important to me
My job is not peaceful now.
Depends on what gives me a higher salary.
Depends on the job
Most likely not.
Business is better than job.
Not if I had to do more work.
No, I want the peaceful job.
Yes.
Why not.
Yeas.
