I'm telling you right now that the only reason they're even making a show of trying to rescue them is because the owner is a high profile billionaire. If it was just everyday tourists, this story would've been a second or third page afterthought and written off as a loss almost immediately. I haven't gotten too deep into this one since it's still mostly sensationalist BS to drive clicks at this time, but from what I've heard anyway, it sounds like critically stupid mistakes were made even before they built the sub- the kind of idiocy that people with more money than sense do, but with costs even they can't afford.

If you don't think that the US government (and every other government on the planet) doesn't put a numerical value on human life and what is or isn't worth the effort, you'd be mistaken. It's actually higher than you might expect even before taking the value of public image into account, but not high enough for needles in haystacks with a time limit with a very slim chance of success.

It was a poorly designed sub that the owner never bothered to get properly certified and tested. The passengers may make it out but it will be a miracle. Now maybe the owner thought that having the passengers sign waivers (saying they knew all the risks) that the owner would be free of liability but I bet you there will be an astronomic bill from all of the companies and government agencies doing the rescue mission. Way more expensive then if they bothered to properly test the sub in the first place which the owner did not.

My dad and I both think they know where the people are and have the money to rescue them but won't do it cause they don't want to spend tens of millions saving somebody who probably will not pay them back due to being stingy.

I just want to know who's going to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to climb aboard a submarine to visit an underwater tomb.

Then see that said submarine is controlled by a cheap, plastic, $30 video game controller, and say, "Yup, this seems like a perfectly safe, reasonable endeavor I've gotten myself into. What could possibly go wrong?"

If they are found in time then that means at least one of them God is being gracious and merciful too that He will deliver them, if not then that tells me all of them are doomed to hell and where worthy to suffer such fate.

God always sends help to deliver His beloved, but He won't do the same for the wicked.

Last I heard, they have about 20 hours left before oxygen runs out in the submarine and they die from lack of oxygen.
