Why do some people compare women to children? Are there any science to it?

We often need to be consoled when things don't go our way, and women are naturally better prepared to provide the necessary motivation, incentive and if need be, discipline or even punishment if the circumstances call for it. And that's not to suggest that there aren't plenty of women who behave like children themselves, or that all men are child like in their personalities, but I do think that generally speaking, men are often more like little boys whereas women tend to be more mature and measured. This is why men take longer to mature than women do, in most cases.
