Affirmative action applies to every single person of a minority and it is saying their difficulty with these college emissions and whatnot is inherent and intrinsic to them being of that specific race.
So wouldn't that mean affirmative action is one of the most racist ideologies to ever exist? 🤔

I think the original idea behind it was based on a good feeling of trying to do something fair but we know how the road to hell is paved by good intentions and how liberals have a knack for building 6 lane highways to hell. As Thomas Sowell points out it doesn't really work & it isn't fair. He said it's actually worse when most **talented** black students get into a top school because even tho that person may be better than most students at other schools they could be the bottom of the barrel at the top school & they drop out. Having quotas emphasizes the checkbox over the abilities so these schools might shove the wrong person into the school. Another way of putting it is that the school doesn't even care about the abilities of the student and might ignore the best black student if that student has the "wrong" politics (!) and instead pick a student with less academic ability who can be used as a token/symbol of diversity. But we are way beyond the time when this conversation should have been had. This should have been talked about in the 80s.
I don’t think your race should have any influence on your college applications. It does not matter whether you’re a minority, you should be treated the same way someone else of any other race is treated. Jobs, college admissions etc should ONLY be based on merit.
Where I’m from, we have “reservations” and I think it’s a load of bollox, especially when it’s for medical schools when plenty of lives are on the line. So, a person who has less qualifications than me can easily get into a prestigious university when I worked my ass off, but they just goofed around all day? Lol no way.
The color of your skin or your caste or religion or whatever does not prevent you from achieving your goals without the help of the government.

I'm "disabled". As an amputee I accept there are some limitations I have now that I didn't before I lost my leg. I despise the term "disabled" though. I will not disclose my condition prior to interview, and I will with old disclosure until an offer is made. I have no interest in being offered a job based on how many legs I have. At this point I'm not prepared to accept a potential employer's pity appointment.
Affirmative Action tends to appoint disabled over better qualified here (South Africa) as well.

Remember color blind casting? That thing they touted as the non-racist way to hire actors, that would totally help non-white people get more roles as voice actors because they were ignored due to their skin? Well it turned out that without seing the actors and just hiering them based on their voicing skill just increased the amount of white actors, and the sjws turned on their own creation and called it racist and demanded diversity quotas. And of course they get to pat themself on the back as anti-racist.
You may notice that they will most likely ignore, or support bigotry if the victim is Right leaning and the perpetrator is a leftist. Try calling a famous black person the left like the names Clarence Thomas since at least the verdict of Roe v Wade and see how fast leftists will call you a racist.
I suppose we could just wait 20-30 generations for legacy admissions to level out between black and white students. Affirmative action is simply looking further afield for equally qualified students and admitting them; it will raise the bar to get in. Legacy admissions are about who you had the foresight to chose for your parents.
I'd be OK with getting rid of both and giving credit to students who finished near the top of their year (whatever the standard is for the highschool). Legacy admissions are affirmative action for white people in most universities.

Absolutely. And its beneficiaries tend to already be pretty privileged themselves, sometimes very privileged. Since the beginning of Affirmative Action, it was always a false assumption that all members of a race were discriminated against and had no agency. But that suited the purposes of leftists, so they've ridden the horse into the ground.

I think its racist and not solving the problem. Equalizing funding for schools at the primary level would have a far greater impact. By the time students reach college, if they are behind, its very difficult to catch up.

Despite how leftists would like to believe that White Nationalism is the scourge of America and that there is a KKK member behind every tree and bush is false. Most people are NOT racists. Many may hold bigoted views, but that the furthest extent. You cannot, I repeat CONNOT control the thoughts of others. You can only curb their behavior. This has already been done. If I went to work and started talking racist garbage I guarantee they would have my locker cleaned out before I made it to the front doors. This is true in every workplace in America. No one can make racial remarks or engage in racism in public either. Show me a celebrity or politician who could dare to do so.

The cause for black lack of black wealth is poor decision making. Same cause for anyone’s lack of wealth. It is illegal to not hire someone based on race and further more there is a mandated quota of blacks that must be hired.

Get rid of affirmative action, collectively we stop pretending blacks are victims of imaginary racism and we stop pretending there’s a racist behind every tree.
Collectively we also acknowledge the reverse racism solves noting.
We then offer the blacks an option. This is how things are. If you don’t like America and feel you are oppressed we will purchase a 1 way ticket to Liberia, one of the poorest African nations which was founded by slaves and there they can be free of the white oppression they think is so prevalent.
We then commence to silence the white fools who say there is so much racism by confiscating every last dollar and possession they have and give it to the blacks. I feel since they are only interested in crying about racism and only they really care about it anyway, the burden can be on them to elevate blacks monetarily.

Same with the ones who want to cry about land stollen from the Indians. They’re perfectly comfortable enjoying the fruits of what they consider stollen land. I’ve yet to hear of one person contacting whichever tribe the land was once inhabited by to return that land. Instead they enjoy the land and lecture all of us about this matter. On a side note, in many cases they are wrong. I’m not going into great depth about every tribe and treaty but the overwhelming majority of tribes on the East cost lost their land due to picking the wrong side. They sided with the British.
Particularly the Iroquois who had told Patriots at German Flats they were going to remain neutral…. and signed a treaty saying they would do so…right up until the British summoned their chiefs to Oswego and have them clothes, a piece of gold, a rifle, brass kettles, and other items during the Revolution. Then 4 of the the 6 tribes elected to fight for the British. To let the Patriots know that hostilities had begun, they violated the treaty and attacked a man tending his horse, followed by raids on Cherry Valley and the Wyoming Valley in PA.
But we don’t like this history. Only history that depicts Indians as perpetual victims.

And if there is tribal instinct, it's not higher among whites- if anything, it's lower (polls show white leftists disfavor fellow whites, at least ones who are not fellow leftists).
And you are aware that savings rates can vary among different groups, right? So things like net worth have many factors, but it figures an innumerate racist like you would simply decree "racism" as the cause.
