People are easily misled, and her spreading the lie could be that she is threatened by you. Maybe she’s worried you’ll take her job or get promoted over her, or maybe she thinks maybe a guy she likes will like you instead. I don’t know what the circumstances are, but it’s sort of like how in highschool girls will just call the new girl a “slut” just so other guys don’t like her.

It could be something like that. Either way she’s not your friend. In fact she’s the exact opposite.
