Any ideas why a female friend would constantly lie to me about things for no apparent reason?

i've known her for some time but only notice this behaviour more recently so perhaps i was being lied to earlier and wasn't aware.

but like i'll ask her questions about things and talk to her , often at our local pub. but she isn't honest with me and seems to say one thing to me and something entirely different to someone else which tends to be more truthful.

but not entirely sure why she is doing this towards me , maybe she was doing it to annoy me or didn't like my questions so giving dumb answers , i'm not entirely sure or perhaps she wasn't even aware she was doing and i make her nervous or something

i know think what i'd be dealing with if i was actually in a relationship with this person and they weren't honest to me about anything

but what gets me is most of the stuff she lies to me about is of no importance and wouldn't even matter if i knew or not , its not intimate or private stuff

she doesn't really lie to other people though , its like this is directed at me personally

like one day after work she told me she was going to bed , a minute later heard her tell someone else she was going boating

How do you know she never lies to other people?

well true she might lie to other people , i recall her mentioning once she was hiding something significant from her parents about a past boyfriend although didn't hear exactly what it was , but might of been that they had sex
