Would you trust your friend after lying to you repeatedly?

I asked her after the rumors about she's dating someone we know (Happens to be our other friend's ex) she refused it and she opened up to me about how this affects her and how uncomfortable she is. It felt sincere after seeing how upset she is because of others. But still everyone thinks they're together and I know how stupid this is but it's starting to get worse. I can't deny the feeling she's hiding something from me. (Some little things that I caught) Honestly I wouldn't care if they're dating or not because it's none of my business but if there's something, she didn't just lie to me also she made me lie as well. That's what bothers me.

I mean is it possible for my best friend to lie over and over again with cold blood like this.

I understand maybe she didn't want to share it with me but she knows that I wouldn't judge her for that and I'm totally okay not talking about it at all. I would've respected her anyway. But I can't accept the fact that she hides it in this way and inevitably brings me into it because of some of the things she had done.

I wish people would just mind their own fucking business and it would never get that big of a deal.

Should I not think about it and continue my friendship or maybe try to find out the truth somehow?

So... Turned out she was lying to me and like I said she made me lie as well and now everybody thinks I'm a lying bitch as well (kinda long story) Anyway I'm gonna talk to her tomorrow I'll let you know what happensThanks to everyone who responded <3

I have very mixed feelings on this.
My adult life I lived with a code that I heard in a movie. “If you love someone and you lie to them you’ll lose them, and if you don’t love them…. Who the hell are they that you have to lie to them. “


But recently I was put in a situation that if I didn’t lie I would lose someone I love. So I lied. I will eventually tell this person the truth because I can’t live with the lie…. But the time needs to be right.
Maybe your friend felt like I did… the truth will cause her to lose you. The truth is always best but sometimes there is a bad time for the truth.

I don’t want to be lied to can you ever trust him or her? If everything’s a closed book and they’re always lying to you about everything. it’s like what kind of a friendship is that can you count on somebody like that?

It's okay that she didn't tell me, maybe she just wanted to keep it a secret, I can understand that, but she lied to my face and caused me to tell others. She knows how people see me now because of this stupid issue but she still doesn't say a word
