I have this friend, everyone calls him Steve, and I like him a lot. Well we have one class together and he sits right behind me so we're talking all the time. We've recently started becoming closer and closer. Well a few weeks ago I was joking around with him and I told him he's my new fake bf.(It's a joke between me and my friends.) He said he was kool with it and we just continued on how we usually were.
But then I started noticing that he would call me names like babe and such, but never made it a big deal so I never made it a big deal. Then today in class, we were watching a video, and during the video I heard him calling me. So I turned around and asked him what he wanted. Then he whispered that he needed to ask me something and that it was important. I asked what he wanted, and he just kept repeating himself saying that he needed to ask me something and it was important. He was smiling and laughing the whole time though, so I didn't think it was anything too serious.
After the video was over though, the teacher wanted us to write down the hw. So as I was writing it down, he started calling me again saying he needed to ask me something. So I said, okay shoot. But then he said I wasn't listening to him because I was writing the hw down. So I finished writing it down and turned around and said okay, what is it? Then he said will you go out with me? I was completely surprised and thrown off guard. I started panicking and said he was lying. I was like your joking aren't you? And he said no, I'm not. Then the guy that sits next to him said trust me, he's not man. Then Steve looked at me and he's like I'll take that as a no? But I wanted so badly to say I wanted to be with him, but I was so nervous that he was just messing around with me. I didn't wanna look dumb if he was just joking the whole time.
After that, it got real quiet and the bell rang for lunch. When we were out of the class, I asked him again if he was joking. He said he wasn't, but I didn't know what to do so yeah,
I need to know if he was joking or not, I wanna text him and ask him but I also don't wanna look desperate. So I have no idea what to do. What should I do?
