Mr. bean. He may have always gotten into jams, but in the end, he always found a clever way to solve the problem. The character was kind of a genius. He was sorta accident prone, but whenever he was trying to figure something out, he did NOT give up, and in the end, he would find some ingenious way to solve the problem.

I used to watch his show on PBS, reruns. I don't think may episode was made, but it was on for a few years. British television is like though with a lot of shows. Instead of seasons, they just film a couple here and there a year. They did that with "Are You Being Served" also. I think that one ran for 10 years or so, but they only filmed a few episodes.

I saw Rowan Atkinson is a James Bond movie once also. I can see why Johnny English was kind of a parody of the bond movies. I think it was "Never Say Never Again" he was in, which was a remake to "Thunderball".

He did everything right with his business and product/service and has a philosophy, that opens a sort of "hidden/forbidden" knowledge, that other "successful" major persons may shun (those, who do their things wrong and with the wrong philosophy but are still "successful") but with Gabe's philosophy the average person (aka the majority of people) benefits and therefore if someone can fix up a country and society, it's him.

I fear the monthly subscriptions the most. That any and all gaming will be on the cloud eventually, like what Stadia tried to do and what Xbox is doing now with GamePass. Which sucks because you can't play without an internet connection for any game and it prevents modding entirely so developers can shit out terrible games and there is no fixing them.

The only way you'd ever show your dislike for this system is to neve use it and use whatever games you just happen to have installed on your hard drive or play on older consoles.

What is even scarier is that I hear windows 12 will be entirely cloud based, your computer will just be bricked if there is no internet. At that point I would just use Linux as my main gaming PC operating system. I hope steam completely optimizes the game catalog for Linux by then.

@Snakeyes7 Yep. We need more people like Gabe Newell. Who have the philosophy of the users perspective, the average consumer, the majority of members of society (in the sense of serving the people, not the top 0.1%).

I would use Linux too if it wasn't for Linux clunkiness nature, limited DX support (I'd want to see the Proton project progressing further) and the lack of ergonomics in the UI.

The point is - Gabe Newell is an idol. An example of how to run a successful business, that's actually loved by the people. So that there's no love-hate relationship with his creation but just the love part. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of small businesses aiming for the same as Gabe does, yet don't get to bloom due to circumstances.
