Is homelessness a better option if no other option available for housing?

Last year I was homeless. It's not worth it. I encourage anybody, if they have a friend to stay with or even a family member they don't get along with, to do it!

When you're homeless, you have to look for places to sleep, and you have to keep moving around because the police will make your life a living hell, and yeah, a lot of people think, they will just throw you in jail and you get a few hot meals. That's if you're lucky! The police are corrupt in a lot of places, especially with homeless people. I had a car, and I parked it next to a church, thinking "God will protect me". They towed it! With me in it when I was sleeping!

Then there's the hunt for food. Even if you do manage to find a food pantry, you still have to find a way to cook it. I got deathly sick eating soup from a can because there's some type of bacteria that lives off of metal.

And the winters, last winter, I remember one day it was 5 degrees below zero, and I was trying to keep warm inside this dumpster in the back of this family-owned store, which were assholes. I could image if I was in the front of the store, but no, they didn't like homeless people being within 100 feet near them.

I developed symptoms of hypothermia three times; I was hospitalized one of the times. And being homeless, the reality of it, you are a piece of garbage to non-homeless people. I remember every day I wished a bolt of lightning would just strike me dead. And it's so funny how people get religious and are all like "God will protect you." Yeah, I'd like to see these people live on the street for a few months, or even just a week! You are on your own! I was diagnosed with diabetes right before that, and here I am, living on the street in zero-degree weather, my foot is fractured in three places, my blood sugar is in the 40s most days, and it must have done some type of damage because now, I have trouble keeping food down, I'm always sick, I get tired just walking two feet.

Yeah, I encourage anyone, if they can find any option BUT homelessness, do it. They have no idea how draining it is, and how sick it makes you!

I don't understand. If someone has no other option for housing, aren't they by definition "homeless'?

Well ultimately that’s the result you have when you have no other option. It’s not a choice. People in that situation do not recommend it, but again it’s not a choice

There are homeless shelters where you can stay at. I’d suggest staying there temporarily while trying to find a job that can hopefully pay enough to room with someone

I think it varies on your setup. Not ever person's situation is the same clearly.
