Seems to me. I think we humans need an upgrade in Real Intelligence

For many years, computers were just called computers. Computers were just ones and zeros. That's it. Off/on Up/down
It was binary. Now they invented quantum computers. So now the computer you're typing on is considered a "classic" computer. Quantum computers can store information at the atomic level. But the difference is the Q bit. I don't understand it, because it's way over my head. This is the way I try to understand it. You had yeses and nos. Now they added a maybe. If you created a 16 digit pass code with upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols, it would take a classic computer 300 years to crack the code. It would take a quantum computer 4 seconds.
Why is this important? Because if you could remove human greed from the picture, world hunger and disease would be eradicated.
IBM did a study. They determined that in the beginning, human knowledge doubled every 1500 years. In the next 30 years, they predict that the sum of all human knowledge will double every 4 hours. Humans can't keep up with that. You're a brilliant doctor. You lay your head on the pillow for 4 hours, and you're back to square one. lol
I say get rid of all computers and force us to live life in the 1500s
Computers and robots are going to kills us all
@HumanEarth. Well, maybe NOT the 1500s, but I agree with your sentiment. We are WAY TOO reliant on computers! In Dune, they had mentats, the human equivalent of a computer. We need transform and augment ourselves to something more than we currently are. H+
@Guardian45 right I know, our days as a species is numbered and we did it to ourselves
Is it a coincidence that the movie War Games was just shown on television?
In case you are unfamiliar with the movie. It is where a computer takes over NORAD and is about to launch 🚀 or convinces the humans to launch the nuclear bombs.
I know the movie well
ChaosGPT was prompted to “establish global dominance, and “attain immortality”. It determined the quickest way to do that was to cause thermonuclear war. So it set out to recruit other AI and gullible humans to carry out this task. It actually succeeded in recruiting a number of Reddit users into assisting in it's mission to kill the human race with thermonuclear war. It's not just the movies... There are AI projects that really want to kill you in that exact way.
@rigmarole Thats my fear
We are being replaced
I work in this field and it scares me. There is too much opportunity for bad actors, not to mention military exploitation.

We probably need to evolve more ourselves instead to handle more technology before it gets out of control
Agree
YESSSSSSS
The study into AI is partially to help us understand our own intelligence and how to improve it. Think of it as trying to learn by creating your own version of something and then studying what you made to try gain additional insight.
That was the intent, but what we are REALLY doing is something similar to "Person of Interest" TV!
It's called creating in your own image. Sound familiar?
@Guardian45 Sure does, kiss human life goodbye
ask our schools and colleges that are indoctrinating the youth to believe there are more than 2 genders or Shark Week is racist
