You know, you are absolutely right. Republicans can stand not to be so reactive and whinge so much about movies. Maybe if they dealt with what is truly ailing them deep inside, they wouldn't have this problem.

But, what if they DID fix what's deep inside them and still aren't content with what is being presented to them?

Remember Marvel? Before , Marvel had interesting stories of heroism, valor, friendship, and even love. But after Thanos died, something died with him. That "Spark" Marvel had, that foundation that turned Endgame into a billion dollar movie.

It became more about this feminist lecture that replaced the moments of connection between the characters and the story being told.

It became more about demeaning the male characters to make the female ones look good. It became about teaching the male heroes they aren't owed anything. It became something that sounds good on paper? (I guess.) But as a person who has grown up in this feminist world? I realized something: Its not about making everyone equal, its about putting men beneath the boot heel of a white woman. I fought my demons, went to therapy, hit the gym, did the skincare routine and became someone worth being loved. I still don't like those types of movies...

and you know? That's one form of storytelling, i mean: If you want stories about female dominance? What's wrong with that? More power to you. . . . except it isn't just about wanting / consuming stories about female dominance.

It's about making it such that those are the only stories appropriate to tell , and everything else is sexist or "showing age" or "problematic". and EVERYTHING is just controlled Down to the story beats, the types of female characters allowed, the hairstyles they will wear, and even the types of males represented in the mediums.

That being said, based on what a reviewer said about Barbie? There is actually more to Barbie than just "feminism". If my hunch is right? Only people who will have a surface level read on Barbie will see the feminist overtones and think that is it.

But people will see these moments of cognitive dissonance and changes that will make them realize : "Wait, does she actually WANT Patriarchy?"

I can't make it through that video. I quit watching anything by TYT years ago. The first couple minutes of this one seem even worse than normal.

Probably the vast majority of Republicans don't give a shit about this. Probably most never even heard of it. I'm not a Republican, but I've never heard of it myself, and sure as hell don't care.

What's the issue? You're ego is so fragile that you can't accept that people can have different opinions than you? Obviously a lot of people don't like trannies grooming little kids by using toys to attract their attention. The barbie movie is like the pedophiles that show up to the park in a van offering free candy to the children. Second point I want to make is your poll results are irrelevant. What it really asks is "Are G@G users :

A. Democrat/liberal leaning (Yes they are) = 46%

B. Republican/conservative leaning (They are not) = 54%

Which is pretty close to what I've seen on other questions like this. I estimate it's probably closer to a 40/60 split, but there may be some thoughtful voters on either side, or a contingent of centrists that account for shifts one way or the other.

It seems to me that these individuals feel offended by the fact that some Republicans did not enjoy the movie. It can be frustrating when Hollywood and the media are predominantly influenced by progressive voices, and it feels like propaganda or a specific agenda is being forced upon us. Nowadays, nearly every movie seems to include subtle liberal messages, which, in their opinion, detracts from the overall entertainment value. While I may not be overly upset or vocal about it, it does bother me and reduces their desire to watch more films. Many people simply want to be entertained without feeling like they are being subtly persuaded into embracing feminism, LGBTQ+ themes, or progressive ideologies.

So no, I don't believe they are acting childishly simply because their opinion differs from the prevailing progressive views. Although I haven't watched the movie myself, this is my overall stance on the matter.

It is not about the movie it is about the influence China has over many aspects of our lives. They tell the movie studio to change a map and they immediately do it because they do not want to upset "The Party" . They practically run pro basketball. They have people placed in a lot of our universities to brainwash our kids.

If this relates to the messaging in the Barbie movie. Then it's not just a movie.

It's yet another movie. With the same poor messaging. To those that are not into that stuff.

As such, it's another movie that divides it's audience and people have become accustomed to listening to feedback (and not from paid critics) before committing their time and money to go see it.
