How many people do you know are transgender?

As in: you know their names, ages, personality. And have met during your every day life (as in not gone to a meet and greet specific for LGBTs). Whether that's work, school, clubs, gym, concerts etc

So this is in relation to my last question and it's left me curious, some have said it's good to know how people live with transgenderism as a child.

So how many of you have met a transgender person in your life, so far I've met one and she was lovely, she never pushed it down your throat and other than her appearance, which was very obviously male, it was never mentioned. And since transgenderism is meant to be 0.5% of the population, I really am curious about the results.

Funny thing is, this was sort of a hard question for me to answer, because I don't think of people as "men, women, and transgendered". I only really take note of nonbinary people as being outside of the men/women dichotomy. If someone is transgendered, I simply accept them as their identified gender. After that, they are not flagged in my mind, they blend in with all the other men/women.

Example: My old roommates were a couple, one a cis female, the other a female-to-male (FtM) transgendered person. I have always thought of him (the FtM) as male. I actually totally forgot about him when I selected my "3/4" answer above. I may be forgetting a few others as well, for the reason I stated above: I don't think of a person as a transgendered male, I just think of them as male (or female). Of course I'm aware subconsciously or in some cases I don't really know and I am not intimate enough with a person to feel it's appropriate to delve, nor is it necessary. So maybe I know a few more stealth transgendered people, or that are androgynous and I didn't really ask or it didn't come up in conversation, though I may still know their name, age, personality. For some people, their gender is a topic that pushes to the front, for others it's more personal and not something they bother to declare to everyone everyday. I don't go around declaring I'm nonbinary, though people use male pronouns with/for/on me, I don't feel the need to "make sure they know" how I identify. It's not important to me what other people know/perceive; for me, my gender is a personal matter. Like my spirituality and sexuality. I have no problem discussing it, but it's not like I buy groceries and tell the cashier, "I'll be paying with credit and I like to have sex with people who have vaginas.".

If someone is presenting as female, I accept they are female, unless they tell me they are male, then I accept that they are male. It's pretty easy, and very low stress. People who are always obsessed with what kind of genitalia everyone's got regardless of how they present, seem like it stresses them out a lot. I don't feel that involved about other people's business, so I don't have to stress about it.

oh lol I just thought of another person who I see pretty much weekly that fits this. A MtF who lives in my neighborhood, but I just think of her as this old lady. I mean, I am aware she has a penis and she's not stealth passing at all, but I just forgot when I was trying to think of "transgendered people I know". I think at this rate I would need to change my poll answer to 5-8 at least and maybe even the next category of 9-15. I mean, I really know her; she's the one who helped me get the job I've been at for the last 3 years.

Two.

I met two middle-aged people through a local environmental organization I worked for. They were married, but apparently the husband had decided that he was a woman, went through the entire sex change thing and changed his name to Robin. Interestingly, his wife supported his decision. They're still married.

Robin was kind of tall and didn't make an attractive women, but "she" was good people. "She" didn't broadcast "her" original gender and just wanted to pass as female.
I had no problem with that at all.

I knew them for several years but haven't seen them for quite a while.

As it turned out, I heard that Robin became unhappy with "her" decision. "She" had physical pain and problems as a result of the drugs and surgery, and realized that the results of the sex change hadn't produced the promised results.

I met another guy named Conrad. He was short and in his mid-20s or so. Super cool dude. I later heard that "he" was a biological male who had fully "transitioned".
It didn't matter to me.

I have met teen girls who claimed to be "trans" and wore tags with their preferred pronouns. I knew that they had been mind fucked by their schools and social circles. I basically ignored them and had nothing to do with them.

I've never met any male twinks who acted like female parodies and claimed to be trans.

I've met several openly gay and lesbian people. I liked some of them and some of them made me sick.

Two. I know a MtF transgender who has been on hormone blockers for roughly 4 years now but hasn't had the surgeries or anything. And then my ex, Eli, he is a FtM transgender and he just got his surgeries done last year after 2 years of transitioning. He's my best friend.

The last one is probably the easiest because the communities are very welcoming to people of all spectrum of life, all gender identities and types of relationships. One closer friend is MtF, we started playing online together about a decade ago and still to this day, she's a teacher. My play pod a week ago i met a new friend whom is FtM. I also have several closer co-workers who are, meet more regularly in webex or in-person. I can go on but you get the idea.

Ah, yes, Germany. I've already mentioned the problems with the data in the US. But the real point is, at what cost?

For those who don't know, there were two lockdowns in Germany in 2020. Here's what it was like in Munich:

Police stationed on street corners in residential areas enforcing the lockdown with fire trucks circling around neighborhoods with loudspeakers blaring "Do not come outside!". At most, you could meet up with one other person during the lockdowns. Schools closed, with students forced to learn remotely. Large numbers of people didn't seek medical attention. Psychological damage from forced isolation.

Freedom of religion and assembly is also guaranteed by the US Constitution, yet churches were not afforded the same constitutional protections during the lockdowns by Democrats as BLM rioters, so you're full of shit. The main point is that the lockdowns obviously weren't necessary if the BLM riots were OK and didn't result in mass deaths. The lockdowns violated the general right of assembly, but an exception was made for riots that suited the Democrats' political purposes. So you can't trumpet the lockdowns as necessary.

"Trump-era legislation"- haha, that's funny. Spending bills originate in the House of Representatives, which was controlled by the Democrats. Once disbursed to US states, who has oversight? Certainly not the federal executive branch.

Much of the fraud occurred in California, that notorious right-wing state with a Republican supermajority in the legislature. So it obviously was Republicans who ensured that people in California prisons for rape and murder got COVID money. And that's just one example.

2. Many, if not most, people were wearing masks.
3. They were almost entirely outdoors.

And did BLM rioters ever eat indoors, use toliets, etc? Sure they did. Protestors also got close enough to police officers to injure hundreds of them. Churches could have employed social distancing and could have met outside for much of the year.

I think numbers of dead people is a pretty good indication of how well various regions dealt with the pandemic. I'd be inclined to make allowances for when the deaths occurred (were they in the initial outbreak, after treatment protocols had been established, when the vaccine became available, or when most people had been vaccinated?). I'm not making "assumptions", I'm simply saying that 2,078 deaths per million is better than 3,492, and that the difference is about 685,000 American lives, or about 119,000 German lives (if we'd have acted like the US).
