I know He ain’t Arab, but He lived in the heart of the Middle East, spake Hebrew and Aramaic, both of which are relatives to Arabic, and both Yeshua and ethnic Arabs are descendants of Abraham (peace and blessings upon Him). To be fair, many Christians DO believe in evolution; the single largest sect (Catholicism) even makes a point of it.

But while many people will claim it's all a PR stunt, because "white Christians would never worship a little brown Jew", the modern depiction actually derives from the work of one artist, Warner Sallman, from a series of paintings he did starting in 1940. Sallman never left Chicago, much less traveled to the Middle East, and given that one of the central points of Christianity is that all people are the children of God, logically his paintings depicting a more Nordic figure are no more blasphemous than the Rastafarian-esque ones depicting Him as black, or the Asian ones from further east:

In the U. S. Census, Jesus Son of Mary would have to tick "White".

The current examples for the ancestral countries of White people I believe were Ireland, Germany, Morocco and Lebanon. The last is pretty close geographically. The border to "Asian" is further East. Iranians are also White.

It is sometimes said that Jesus is depicted as White while he was not. This is not in line with the rules of U. S. institutionalized racism. It may apply to other systems of "race". Given that our species does not actually have races or subspecies that's quite possible.

Fun fact: The Eurasian Red Squirrel has at least 5 subspecies.

I know a few Moroccans and Lebanese. They’re all light-skinned. Ireland has many dark-skinned people.
Fun fact: The grey wolf (Canis lupus) also has several subspecies: Eurasian wolf, domesticated dog, dingo, and possibly more. I love wolves.

US race classifications are silly in the first place, even people who look like George classify as white according to them. Arabs and the original Jews are not white, actually even northern Pakistanis are closer to white than them in my opinion

Many Arabs are way lighter than many native Europeans. Location of where one is from means very little to complexion.
Here’s His name in Hebrew: יֵשׁוּעַ. Yešúa3. The 3 makes the voiced pharyngeal fricative, a sound English has not. In Aramaic, it’s Yešú3. I know that Jesus and Joshua is the same name.
