Why is it that even presented with evidence that banning abortion does more harm than good, why do pro lifers refuse to change their beliefs?

The so called pro life side refuses to budge even with proven scientific and societal fact that banning abortion and reproductive rights does more harm than good. Why do people stubbornly hold onto their beliefs and yes beliefs not facts. Yet they expect pro choices to be apologetic and be ass kisses to the so called pro life side and what frustrates me is when women are so called pro life, to me these women are just mad that they have no control over their life so they are determined to ruin a young woman's life to punish them for the pro life womans miserable life.

There is no agreed upon way to measure harm. If killing a fetus is murder, then abortion causes more harm. If its not, then banning abortion causes more harm. There is no absolute truth on this one

I am the devil's advocate in that I want people to really think about rigth and wrong. . Yes women are paying the price, no question. The question is whether a fetus is a "person".

If a fetus is a person, then killing it is murder
If a fetus is not a person, then forcing a woman to carry a fetus she doesn't want is horrible.

The problem is who gets to decide if a fetus is a person or not?

For the record, I'm strongly PRO abortion, but I understand the argument against.

If you read my post above you would see that I did pick a side, I am pro abortion. But demonizing the opposition is a poor approach to getting people to change their minds. Abortion rights are losing ground in the US and the only way to get them back is to convince people to change their opinions. Talking about how evil the other side is feels good and gets you the support of people who have already decided. You don't need their support - you need the support of people who are undecided or anti-abortion.

I think most are pro-life due to moral inclinations and so can't be convinced that any harm would outweigh the perceived crime

Also, only the Catholic church banned all abortions. All other faiths allowed it under certain circumstances.
