I've been to Powis castle and seen the Indian stuff Clive of India borrowed and forgot to return

There's a controversial statute of him in Shrewsbury England that many want removed because of his invasion of India

He was considered too dumb to teach by several tutors, became a out of control yob that would hurl dung at people so his parents bought him an officers commission in the army. His success at plassey owes much to the fact he had zero consideration for the lives of his own men and was willing to lose a lot to boost his own ego.
Yes a great day for Indian women

I was aware of it but vague on the details other than it was a key battle.
The East India Company is interesting as it seems to have been as much a private military company as a trading company. Wellington gained his early experience in the India army.
I do not. I did recently come across this, which I found amusing.
