You generally can see the movie at home while it's still in theaters for free if you know where to look on the internet. It's been that way for over a decade. People that work in theaters often upload the video files from the hard drives that are right in the theater... Then people on the internet reencode them for free distribution in more compressed file formats within a day or two of release... Sometimes movies are even on the internet before they are in the theater. Most people have more than one TV/computer monitor at home. Some people are just to lazy to find the movies for free.

You go to a theater for the 30 feet screen and giant sound system. I do like my 5 feet tv and sound bar for everyday stuff.

Also horror or comedy where people react in the theater can make it way better. I damn near suffocated in "the quite place" in the theater feeling what's going on. That i would zero response watching it at home.

For me it’s more fun to go to a movie theater when I have someone to go with. So I usually wait till the video comes out on a streaming service.

Ever since covid began i became a germaphobe and i really don't like going somewhere if i really don't have too. I can always find movies on netflix, hulu, or hbo max. And if the move i want isn't there i can always fire up the vpn and find some illegal alternatives but i try to support actors at least once in a while😁.

I mean I kind of agree. I'd rather watch the movie from my couch where I can pause the movie to use the bathroom if need be. Or rewind it if I miss a critical line relevant to the story.

But I also realize thier are people that value the whole theater surround sound experience. It just ain't me that's all.

There are lots of people that like the whole group experience thing. Besides how sketchy would it sound if you asked a girl on a date and you invite her to your house to watch a video.

But it’s fun going sometimes, it can make a good day/night out, changes it up from just being boring and staying at home all the time, and can make for a good date.

False it’s a great experience watching the big giant screen plus hearing the high quality surroundsound system And getting out having movie theater style popcorn and socializing with family and friends
