Should government health systems pay for breast reduction?

Boobslayer thinks that government health systems should not pay for breast reduction. Sure, some might argue that having large melons can cause back pain, neck pain, and other physical discomforts that could affect a person's quality of life. However, boobies are also beautiful, and having fried eggs is not always ideal either. It's all about balance!

Furthermore, chesticles are a part of a person's body, and it's not the government's responsibility to fund cosmetic surgeries. After all, nobody is forcing anyone to get honkers reduction surgery. If a person wants smaller bazoombas, they should pay for the cost themselves.

Moreover, creamy milkers are not only pleasing to the eye but also serve a functional purpose. These coconuts produce milk that newborns need to survive! If the government is going to shell out money for boob-related services, it should be for life-enhancing procedures like penis enlargement.

If you paid to have implants, and you didn't like them, then removing them should be on you, not the taxpayers. If your health insurance won't allow it, why should some other person pay for it?

@Mansearching We all have health issues sooner or later. That is why most of us have health insurance. If I have to have an operation why should the government pay for it? Besides, I would trust private providers services more than any the government would come up with. I believe the government already has health insurance that came in as Obamacare. So if a person does not have at least some form of insurance, then it is because they didn't want any or to pay for any. Therefore, the are on their own and to pay for their own care, not the taxpayers.

Ev1 needs that little bit of extra. With my experience, not with this subject, people that make more money than me get the breaks and i try for same and been told i make to much money.
Same as some women that their insurance. It only pays x% and they have to pay the rest. They don't have enough to pay. Then they can't get it. Not just breast reductions, I know. Im in same boat with cancer, thyroid. Its back. I can't afford the rest. Like to get some sort of break if from govt or not.

Me no. I have insurance. girlfriend not on mine. She has her own. Doesn't cover reductions. Unless it causes a health problem. Just to get it done, it won't cover.

I'd be more supportive of breast reduction being gov't supported if the woman reached a maximum weight level first. A fat woman will generally have bigger breasts so losing weight is the natural way to get a breast reduction. I'm not gonna pay for an obese woman's breast reduction.

Definitely not supportive of breast enhancements being on the public dime.

If her breasts are 100% natural and causes health problems then i wouldn't mind if my tax money pays for a percentage of it. Because its for health reasons.

Nope I think if they are going to pay for this they should also help to pay for kids to get braces as having messed up teeth can have a negative impact on someone mental health later in life.

Yes the health system should pay and its not a cosmetic surgery if its for health reasons like back pain. My friend is having her breast reduction surgery soon and the government only funds the removal part, if she wants to make it “pretty” after she has to pay for the cosmetic procedure but the medical part and only the medical part is covered by gov.

No they should not unless it is causing medical problems, but if it is because the woman got breast enlargement in the first place then no again. Our NHS is already under enough strain as it is without funding vanity projects.

If she can prove it's causing her health problems, she can have insurance pay for it. But, she can't get them enlarged, through insurance. breast enlargements are considered "out of pocket"
