Should breast REDUCTION surgery be covered by insurance if doctors objectively support it?

Lactation nurses, orthopedists, chiropractors, pain mgmt, pulmonologists, oncologists, somnologists, dermatologists, kinesthesiologists, geriatrics, etc ALL support breast reduction when it interferes with daily & quality of life.

+90% of women post reduction surgery are happy with decision 5, 10, 15 & 20 years afterward. +50% of women post augmentation surgery regret it and the curve drops precipitously with age.

It's cosmetic and SHOULD NOT be covered.

Interesting question. It really made me think. The first thing to come to mind is that it's a cosmetic thing and kinda superficial, but then I imagined what it must be like to go through a lifetime with daily pain and not being able to do certain activities... not to mention that it could cause problems socially, such as being stared at, catcalled at, or made fun of. So I've decided that YES, it should be covered by insurance. (But breast augmentations should not.)

If the size of the breasts are giving health issues or such discomfort that it interferes with your everyday life, abso-fucking-lutely. If not - no, then it's cosmetic and should be out of pocket.

Of fucking course it should be covered. Why WOULDN'T it be? Just cuz a plastic surgeon performs the surgery doesn't mean it's just cosmetic & doesn't serve a medical purpose. Just means they're the ones who are most familiar with the type of surgery & can do it best.
