It ultimately didn't change my overall opinion of anyone, and merely reinforced my existing opinions.

Vivek was the only "good" performance, and it was certainly not his best. DeSantis was very mediocre, and clearly following a tight script. His hesitant participation in multiple hand raising questions is killing him, as it's more and more obvious that regardless of his performance as governor, he'd be treated as a puppet in the oval office, which is the main reason I consider him my #3 pick and basically the bottom of the barrel of candidates I would actually want to win. Vivek would win my vote if it was held right now, followed by Trump.

Haley, Pence, and Hutchinson are finished. Nobody in their right mind thinks they're worth the time of day at this point. Chris Christie has never been a serious candidate, and his idiotic potshots at Vivek didn't do him any favors. Frankly Haley did a better job pressing him (still dumb but she did it better), and I get the impression Christie is only there to make jabs that the establishment types don't want to make DeSantis sully himself with.

Burgum can be rightfully meme'd into oblivion for basically buying his way onto the stage when nobody knew he was even in the running, and I think he did himself a big disservice basically waiting out this whole time because he outperformed half of the group just by showing up.

Tim Scott... He's a nice guy I guess but nothing about him comes across as a leader whenever the spotlight is on him. In my opinion, he is and has always been campaigning for vice president.

But here's the bigger problem: what if Trump was on the stage with these people? Literally none of them other than *maybe* Vivek would've walked off that stage alive, and those two are basically in agreement on about 98% of policies. This is an abysmally weak roster overall that I think is almost as bad as the Democrats' from 2020. Furthermore, the RNC absolutely screwed and fixed it to keep Larry Elder out of the debate - a man I don't particularly agree with due to being a bit too libertarian in his views, but he too would've absolutely trashed most of these people on a debate stage.

TLDR: This was a win for Trump and to a lesser degree Ramaswamy. It won't help DeSantis much if at all. Everyone else is a loser, but the Republican party as an organization is the biggest loser because the overwhelmingly clear status right now is that none of the "inside" crowd are selling anything that the voters are looking to buy, which by extensions means that the majority of the party members are out of touch with their own base, which is a really bad spot to be in right now when they should be teed up for one of the easiest elections in history. The fact most of "their" people (aside from Haley) haven't been actively making the rounds on the online podcasts and just sticking to corporate news outlets hasn't helped them either. Furthermore, Fox's attempt to throttle people from clipping parts of the debate is screwing everyone involved and boosting Trump, so in a lot of ways, this has been a demonstration of stupidity.

That wasn't a debate, that was kindergarteners after a nap. While the number of lies was significant, the sheer stupidity of some of them was even funnier, particularly Ramaswamy. He's not only historically dumb, but he's a lying hypocrite.

And then there was DeScumbag's "Penny in the Pan" story - 98% pure bullshit. A simple check of her own YouTube stories proves that, but then again, Ron doesn't care about facts.

Bottom line for the GOP:
* Your leading candidate has 91 counts against him, and several Constitution scholars say he's already ineligible to be on the ballot due to aiding and abetting, organizing and participating in an attempt to defraud the United States and interfere with the transfer of power in an election. He's already announced he would turn the United States into what amounts to an authoritarian dictatorship.
* The next person who made the most sense was Chris Christie
* 6 of 8 of those idiots would still support Trump if he's convicted --- CONVICTED of SEDITIOUS acts against the United States, they'd still support him.
* One candidate is openly fascist and is bankrupting his state as we speak.

That's the best you've got to offer - the end of democracy, one way or the other, and the Handmaid's Tale brought to life. Any vote for the GOP is a vote to end freedom as you know it. Why that's not obvious can only be answered one way: a lot of really ignorant people.

DeSantis is my governor and I support him. I support most of the policies of Trump, but he loses so many points for style! Haley and Scott would be good choices, too. My ideal/fantasy would be Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy as the candidates.

They all didn’t tell the truth about Rich Men North of Richmond. The artist was critical of both parties for misrepresenting his message.

The debate was over after that. Ironically, they did the very thing in that song the artist was talking about: “they just want total control.”

They pretty much told blue collar workers “we ARE going to piss on you and tell you what rain is.”

They all lost.

Didn't even watch the debate because honestly NONE of these clowns has what it takes to overtake the frontrunner. I'm voting for Trump and I watched his talk with Tucker Carlson that night.

I was liking DeSantis even though I figured he would lose. But after what they are doing to Trump, its full support ahead.

I like a few of the other candidates for VP. Ramaswamy seems good and Haley along with DeSantis and Tim Scott.
