Is New York falling apart?

The state has high taxes, a huge homelessness crisis, drugs are used everywhere in public, problems with theft in stores, and vehicle break-ins, sanitation problems with trash, cockroaches, and rats, everywhere. What’s a better alternative if I have children, I don’t want them in New York?

I spent part of my childhood in New York City. There is no way I'd raise kids there. Any Democrat-run city will be a cesspool, and NYC is certainly no exception.

Excellent point about taxes. And keep in mind that even if no more illegal invaders show up in NYC, the current bunch will cost NYC taxpayers $12 billion by 2025.

That is what the elites of US society want, which is why it's happening. A bunch of them recently signed off on a statement demanding that all US taxpayers pick up the tab for NY. Fuck those oligarchs- let them pay since it's their policy and it violates untold numbers of US and local laws.

Xylazine is also legal in New York. It’s like Krokodil which hit poor areas of Russia in the early 2000s. You can see it, the homeless addicts are rougher, and more crazy.

Yes, people are leaving in droves, especially sinc ebiden became president. U Haul trucks are being rented at a record pace because people are moving out, mostly to Florida or one of the Carolinas. Gov. Abbott is sending dozens of busloads of illegal aliens every week. They will soon outnumber the people that belong here. Good Luck.

@love_conquers_lust Mayor Adams is trying to ship them to the suburbs but they are not wanted by the people that live there. He is trying to house them in hotels and in unused municipal buildings. There are thousands just sleeping on the streets. Once it gets cold it will get interesting real fast.

You are dreaming if you think these problems are peculiar to New York City. Violent crime is much worse in many other smaller cities and rural areas.

I won’t move to those bad smaller cities, and bad rural areas, either.

New York is fairly safe. My wife and I visit regularly and have no problem walking in Manhattan in the wee small hours. It's also quite expensive. If you can afford it, move to Westport, CT. It has one of the best school systems in the US.

I agree most of CT is better besides Bridgeport, Hartford, Waterbury, and New Haven. Bridgeport is almost as bad as NYC to me.
