You know the 1984 doublethink concept of, basically learned hypocrisy, holding two conflicting opinions to both be true? The textbook example being that 2 2=5. However for a society needing math to launch missiles and alike 2 2 has to equal 4. And so the entire society is taught that the answer is 5 but they should act as though it is 4.

That is the only versions where I refuse a reality. Although perhaps not so political. For example I am utterly convinced there is no free will, or freedom of choice or anything. There is nothing that supports the idea. Everything we can observe tells us the world is some version of deterministic or fated. However, despite my absolute conviction that this is the case I live life and view it as though there is freedoom of will. Doublethink. I know it to likely be false, but believing it makes me happier.

Its important to note that I still know. I am not refusing it as a fact but only its impact on my life.

No, and politics are not identity. Here in Norway, we have a bunch of parties, I vote for whoever I agree with the most at the election. Sometimes they are left leaning, sometimes they are Right leaning. And usually none get things done as well as they promise.
