He argues people have become lazy and need to be reminded of their place. He also claims governments around the world agree and are putting policies in place to increase unemployment to control people.

So is he right, is it time to crush people after all it is the capitalist way or would it drive people to communism? Do we need a pool of people struggling to strike fear into the hearts of those asking for more?

Capitalism is a doomed system because it assumes infinite growth but the planet it exists on is finite.

A system built for infinite growth will never work to the benefit of all when we live on a planet of finite resources. Hell, even if we expand, it'll not work.

I wouldn't listen to a rich capitalist. He's born into money and doesn't understand the actual ramifications of it.

The rich are not able to make sense of the true reality of the planet. Look at the billionaires who live here. They're given all the resources and information they need to solve global issues, but they collect houses and art instead.

They're disconnected from the reality of what they believe.

@ Provo AND @Jackblue have valid points. The Nobel laureat Milton Friedman was noted in saying that capitalism IS responsible for lifting more people out of poverty than any other economic system. That said, capitalism is now being manipulated to support Billionaire Oligarchs the likes of which are part of the Bilderberg Group (Meeting). It's interesting to compare the Robber Barrons of the 19th century with the Billionaires of the 21st century. We've come full circle.

Our totally undereducated society which gets elected to Public Office has come up with some undereducated legislation. Take Pharmaceutical for example. The regulations are so poorly written that 'a six year old can manipulate the pharm industry'. Epipens - a LIFE saving necessary item, shooting upwards of $600. Why? 1. Insurance 2. Inept legislation that doesn't seem a priority of our elected officials to correct. Hmm- wonder why - MAYBE capitalists contribute to their campaigns?

Another well respected economist once told me flat out -'the system is rigged to keep the likes of you and me from becoming rich'. Capitalism is, from top to bottom, by far, even with its flaws, the best system for governments and their citizens to implement and utilize. Capitalism encourages and rewards innovation, creativity, and effort. No, the guy is just frustrated that workers want more, while workers are upset that their wages don't go as far. I really blame suburbia, and the European healthcare system for America's problems. Because of excessive zoning laws, property costs and rents are sky high. People say that Europeans have the right idea with a public healthcare system and regulating the drug companies, but the reality is, the costs of healthcare aka the vast fortunes that go into inventing new drugs are being dumped on the American consumer. Do not think that the big companies are invisible, many of them go bankrupt.

Capitalism is supposed to be about creating surplus which creates more surplus, making it a heavy emphasis on production.

WE don't need to fire people to increase unemployment. All we need to do is stop all the social programs that keep people happy not working. They'll have to try to find jobs and the unemployment rate will skyrocket.

I don't know about other countries, but in the US, the unemployment rate is not the number of people who aren't working, it's the number of people looking for work. People who are not working but not looking are statistically not unemployed.

About 30% of Americans are in poverty from year to year, depending on how you define poverty.

Since the 14th amendment says everyone has a RIGHT to property, I define "poverty" as anyone who can't afford to buy their own home.

There's only one problem with this line of thinking. The poor can decide to become rich in Capitalism. And those that are either too lazy or too stupid to figure out how to make that happen can band together and just take it. The economy has always been a living breathing organism. But most politicians are smart enough (historically) to know that as the middle class goes, so goes society. The rich will always be rich, the poor will probably remain in the cycle of being poor. But the middles class comprises the bulk of society. And if you destroy that. That's how revolutions begin.

Capitalism is an economic system in which private actors own and control property and supply and demand freely set prices in markets. That includes labor prices. There is nothing freely set by a 50% centrally planned unemployment rate. Planned economies are communism.

A capitalist would tell you to go have babies to increase the labor pool and grow the economy creating more potential skilled workers competing for his jobs and greater demand for his products. not tell the system to fire half of you so that you're starving and begging for low wage jobs. In a capitalist system if major companies fire many workers an refuse to service the market, then new companies rise and hire said workers that were fired to fill the gap in production to meet market demand. So you're entire narrative is really just about a communist.
