Why is modern society against young men and women joining the military and trying to talk them out of joining the military?

I was glad tha tnoner of my kids ever expressed an interest in joining the military. I would not want them to get shipped off to some hellhole to fight in a war that our shit for brains president bumbled us into. They come home missing a leg or maybe in a body bag and for nothing while Crooked Joe gets to live out his declining year and a half on Rehoboth beach eating an ice cream cone.
