Incel: Short for involuntarily celibate, it describes people (typically males) who want sex but cannot have it. That is the literal definition.

I personally think the word is a red herring because I think the people the term is often used to describe really seeks companionship with the opposite sex (or in general) at least and a romantic partner at most.

Some people use it to smear people who the user of the word thinks is hateful of women (in an effort to trivialize the concerns they actually have), which is ridiculous because why would you want to engage in a mutually pleasurable activity with someone you hate? Unless it is taken without consent in which case using the word incel would make even less sense and "rapist" would be a far more fitting word. But let's be honest here, that word is applied to the wrong people just as often.

Those who misuse a word like that as synonymous with misogynist often think of young guys who go on a psychotic killing spree over repeated romantic frustrations, and this even applies to those killings that ended up having nothing to do with it too. If Columbine happened today I assure you it will be chalked up as an incel terror attack. They mostly kill men (basically everyone who was in their way) but they don't want you thinking too hard about that.

Woke: Those who are woke believe that:

1. All of society is built to opress certain groups of people, asserting that some groups are more privileged than others

2. The difference in performance between these groups are irrefutable proof of this

3. The solution to this problem is "equity" which means proportional accommodation without factoring as much performance in the equation if at all.

When this term became popularized, initially the meaning of this term was when an individual become more aware of the social injustice. Or basically, any current affairs related like biased, discrimination, or double-standards.

However, as time passed by, people started using this term recklessly, assigning this term to themselves or someone they know to boost their confidence and reassure them that they have the moral high grounds and are fighting for the better world. And sometimes even using it as a way to protect themselves from other people's opinion, by considering the 'outsider' as non-woke. While people that are in line with their belief as woke. Meaning that those 'outsiders' have been brainwash by the society and couldn't see the truth. Thus, filtering everything that the 'outsider' gives regardless whether it is rationale or not.

And as of now, the original meaning is slowly fading and instead, is used more often to term someone as hypocritical and think they are the 'enlightened' despite the fact that they are extremely close-minded and are unable to accept other people's criticism or different perspective. Especially considering the existence of echo chamber (media) that helped them to find other like-minded individuals, thus, further solidifying their 'progressive' opinion.

Weird but I believe many incels are volcels & don't even realize it. They're attractive enough to be attractive to women. Most 'incels' are just average looking dudes with bad luck in dating. They're just not into the women who are into them. And also maybe they haven't made themselves available to as many people as they could. incel is a bullshit word. it means a person wants to fuck but can't. nobody is "involuntarily" celibate unless if their genitalia don't work. it's their standards that keeps them from having sex. and standards are voluntary.

woke has no objective meaning. it basically is a word people tend to use for opposing opinions on either side of the spectrum. like typically media and contemporary society critics use it to label people who follow and those who follow use it for the ones who don't. so the words meaning depends on who uses it.
