Well the X-rated comparison is pretty tame at best. They use a sophomoric analogy, agreed, but also quite tongue-in-cheek and easily understood by any reader. Quoted directly “As one staffer put it, "choosing between these two trucks is like going to a strip club to find a wife." They aren't exactly the types of vehicles we'd like to settle down with.
Is this offensive? Not really. How could it be? I know the liberal argument would be “It compares women to cars and cars are objects so clearly they are reducing women to objects and objectifying women is bad so it’s offensive!” Let’s unpack this a little though. It (to me) jests at the male who would think he’s going to find a good wife at the strip club. Both funny because strippers (I’ve known a few) generally view their male clients the same way a dairy farmer views a cow. They care for them so long as they can be milked. Also, there is allowed to be a kind of humor in this world that normal people (not hypersensitive feminists) can laugh at. I think that’s the case here. Lastly, what in the world does any of this have to do with gays or trans in schools? Literally MotorTrend magazine is not even remotely involved in the world of educational institutions.
They are a car site, presumably targeting adults and not children in school?
Is Motortrend part of any school curriculum? Did you want to find something that bad? This is just goofy.
I don’t understand why you are comparing cars with gay and trans people. What’s the relevance?
