I think there is a bit of both in it. But what most people don't know is that the Jews were oppressed by Palestine before Israel was made an official 'state.'

Contrary to popular belief, Palestinians are not an original people of their own, they were a conglomeration of Arabs from neighboring nations who settled in the land of Israel. They were actually the ones who first attacked the few Jews and their towns that were still there. When Jews were offered a plan for a state that would have Palestinians co-exist with them, they approved of that idea, but the Palestinians said no. Instead they felt that Jews and Israel should be totally destroyed, which is how we got Hamas and the other groups bent on it ever since.

Israel has not been perfect about everything they've had to handle over there, and no nation is, but Palestinians support Hamas and the movement to destroy Israel. 9 times out of 10 throughout the decades, Israel has still tried to help these people and live in peace with them. It's the Palestinians and their militant groups that don't.

First of all, there is no monolithic block of "Jews". There are Israelis who have elected people who oppress some of the people who want to wipe them out, but they are not all Jews. There are huge numbers of people who want all Jews dead, but they are not all Muslims, or all Christians.

I guess you could generalise and say all Jews are oppressed, but not all Jews are oppressors. The same goes for Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, White people, Black people...

I agree with that. Unfortunately, some people still see some groups as monolithic blocs.

historically they have systematically been oppressed and there's still antisemitism now although i don't think many people in the west are oppressed per say because of their religion, but in the case of israel, they are the oppressor

Neither- they're a demographic group. Pretending the world consists of "oppressor" and "victim" groups that even Communists don't do it any more. Communists.
