Why are there so many scam call centers in India?

It may seem like there are so many when they're really not. Consider that the population of India is over 200% greater than that of the United States. And those call centers may be purposely focusing on the United States for two reasons: 1) The U. S. is one of the richest countries, & 2) The U. S. is so far removed from India distance-wise & political-wise that it makes it extremely unlikely that they'll be caught.

I mean I feel mad for legitimate people from India that work in tech support. I know a lot that work in I. T. and they are very smart. And they have these call centers giving them a bad name.

a lot of those call center pay off the police, so you need someone from higher authority to jail them.

Because most of them live in poverty and are desperate for income
