What should the government do about scam calls coming from India?

These Indian scammers will purport themselves as polite “nice girl/guys”. They use contrition as a weapon, constantly apologizing for things they didn’t explicitly do to “ease” tension. It’s hollow and meaningless.

Minimum once a week, I get scam calls from “Raj” probing for personal information in regards to medicare. They specifically target older demographics who are confused and don’t know what’s going on. Most of them use know-how they gained from call centers that was outsourced to them. Now, companies are shifting outsourcing to the S. Americas, and this problem will likely repeat in coming decade. It’s incredibly unethical. I genuinely get pissed off when I listen to Indians now, I don’t want to give any of them the benefit of the doubt listening to their polite, “nice” demeanor. <-This is how racism and stereotypes are born.

It’s like a boy who cries wolf. We just had another post about X’s and O’s at the ends of messages. The consensus was, the more you water it down, the less it means. Constantly apologizing renders it meaningless and people won’t know when you are genuinely sorry.

AND, one of the leading Republican candidates, Vivek, wants to bring that kind of system here to the US. He wants to turn the streets of the US into one big street marketplace where the elderly get scammed out of their money by “natives” in the US.
