Im a white guy too and i don't really belong to any party but to be honest i stand with Palestine because The Jews occupied Palestine since 1948. I don't think we should be giving a penny to Israel.
No, because at its core, it's not weird. Israel has been a US ally since 1948, conservatives broadly recognize that alliances are more important than the domestic politics within those countries, and tend to only (legitimately) care about such things within American borders, for better or worse. Israel is far from the worst offender in this respect anyway, as two other nearby American allies (Saudi Arabia and Turkey) have much worse human rights records, both in and out of wartime conduct. This is before even getting to other allies such as the South Koreans who we have actively covered up for. Now the reality is that a lot of the elected Republicans who claim to have such an affinity for Israel don't actually have an ideological claim to that fight at all, but rather a financial one. The same is true for the majority of elected dorks who shill for the Palestinians. The US actively funds both sides (almost double towards Israel's enemies), and a continuous conflict in the region makes a lot of western politicians, eastern oligarchs, and warlords very rich at the expense of taxpayers, and the lives of foreigners. This is part of why any bozo still thinking that there will ever be hope for a two-state solution is either lying, or been thoroughly duped.
What I find weird is that anyone supports people who pay terrorists who kill Jews (pay-to-slay policy), support people who overwhelmingly support Hamas even after the 10/7 mass murders and rapes and support people who violate the human rights of their own people and try to get them killed.
And Jews have lived in the region for thousands of years. The "Palestinians" are Egyptians and Jordanians. There was supposed to be an Arab state and a Jewish state in 1948, but the Arabs rejected the Arab state (as they consistently have since 1948) and tried to destroy the Jewish state, just a few years after the Holocaust. And the Arabs expelled their Jewish citizens and took their property.
Israel is a democracy with a large Arab minority (how many Jews live in Arab countries?). It also does a lot of joint R&D with US defense firms and provides a lot of human intelligence the US is not very good or unable to collect. Money provided to Israel is a subsidy to the US defense industry because all of it has to be spent with US defense contractors.
The same terrorists who try to kill as many Israelis as possible also hate Americans and would love to kill many of us as well. Why in the world would you want to "stand with" these terrorists?
Republicans tend to be evangelical Christians and they hold the state of Israel in high regard because of its Biblical origins

The Israelis (who are a notably distinct group from the Jews, though there IS a lot of overlap) aren't "occupying" Palestine; they're living in the land granted to them by those who owned it by right of conquest: the UK. They took it from the Turks, who took it from the proto-Palestinians, who took it from the Israelites, who took it from the Canaanites, who probably took it from someone else, but even cultural records from back then are very sketchy; genetic ones, functionally nonexistent.
If the right of ownership comes from legitimate government, then the Israelis have the right to the land. If the right comes from stronger force of arms, the Israelis have the right to the land. If the right comes from earlier ancestral claims, the Israelis have the right to the land (since the Canaanites don't really exist any more).
The Israeli government, for all its flaws, is at least TRYING to be democratic- and is a hell of a lot more tolerant and liberal than any of its neighbors would be in its current situation.
As much of a shock as it might be, history extends back more than eighty years.
For your information the Jews as you put it did not occupy Palestine in 1948 but was given it by a vote from The United Nations. Soon after the state of Israel was declared several Arab countries attacked Israel and were defeated. Again in 1967 and 1973 the same thing happened. Again the Arab countries were defeated. Now Egypt and Jordan have accepted a peace treaty and are now trading with Israel both in goods and tourism. Those countries have never had it so good. Only the Palestinians don’t want peace so let them suffer the consequences.
You could have just said you were stupid. The jews have always occupied that part of the world. They occupied it before the Roman empire. Palestine on the other hand didn't even fuckin exist before it was given to them by the British. The closest historical reference you get to Palestine is when the Roman's sacked Jerusalem and renamed the area Palestina as a middle finger to the jews.
