Young people call me a fossil for being middle-aged.
Neurotypicals call me "retarded" for being Autistic.
English people call me "sheep-shagger" for being Welsh.
People from the rest of the world just call me "white" and ignore the distinction between conquerer and conquered.
I will never be able to afford my own home, but because I clawed my way out of poverty, it isn't like the council would give me one either... so I've got just enough money to live and die at the whims of rich arsehole landlords.
I need to use my umbrella as a walking stick because of troubles with my spine and my knees... but people will scowl at me on public transport if I don't give my seat up for others because I don't have enough white hair yet to make it obvious to them that I'm in constant pain... PLUS they judge me for the sunglasses too.
As far as I can tell, people regard me as the lowest of the low and look down on me with condescension and disgust... regardless of who they are. And it is my fate to live and die like this.
Sort of. I think once a person reaches about 30 or so their values are pretty much set. I don't really think of my values as "higher," though - just more considerate. Determining what that is worth is still up in the air, however. November elections will possibly be the final test of decency versus overwhelming self indulgence. If Trump wins I don't see decency ever making a comeback. Even if he loses decency will still be on the brink of collapse for the foreseeable future.
Personally, I don't feel like I am above anyone or even bother to utilize the "Social Class" terminology. I treat everyone with respect, equality, and genuine kindness. I do not take social class into consideration, nor do I boast about something so irrelevant.
That's false. That's like saying that you're superior to other people, no one is superior. We all have our own story and our own path.

The reality is that this is both right and wrong.
There are a number of markers that define your social standing and some will put you above others.
Some of those markers are difficult to overcome and may always limit your potential for moving up the pecking order.
However, is this really the only way you want to define and classify people? It feels wrong and dismissive to me as in other ways they may be far your superior.
This is very true. I still know all of the lower class people by name, care about their families and treat them with the utmost respect. Because that's what high class people do and respect given is returned with interest... and interest is how I became upper class.
True, but not in a way that makes me less caring about them. It just is what it is. I’m the product of a privileged socioeconomic background that has provided opportunities for education, travel, and good employment, all of which I’m grateful for.
There are people she can never have the the opportunities I have because of their cultures, religions or oppressive governments. If they were born here, they are not limited by race.
When i saw this question i just knew it had to come from a woman in your age range, this is a typical problem with your generation of women. This is why we have incels and most of the problems in Western society. You are better then no one.
There is no such thing as "social class" - it's entirely a construct with no legal backing.
Hence it's a moot question.
My family is of the 1% richest in the U. S. and I went to a very expensive prep school. This allowed me to associate with people who were richer than my family, because of that I never saw myself as incredibly rich.
Opinions aren't true or false. Facts and fallacies are.
For average Americans this is true. Based on stats. There are “below average” Americans…
I have never seen class I would belong in.
That is so false
