Somewhat.


I’m proud of the competence of the United States military and I believe that they do a good job at keeping United States citizens and it’s allies safe.


The politicians that control the military? It’s been hit or miss. I don’t support presidents sending our troops out to fight wars they shouldn’t fight.


And as janky as the United States is with a LOT of things, it’s still a land of opportunity. Anybody who wants to start a business or become an entrepreneur? United States is a spectacular place for that.


The healthcare system and the price of healthcare? That’s f*cked.


The education system? Pretty f*cked.


Poverty and crime? Very f*cked.


But, the United States does have its redeeming qualities especially that of freedom. Freedom to say, do, and be so many things.


I’m proud to be a United States citizen.


But, I by no means think the United States is perfect.

I want to backtrack on the poverty thing actually. Yes, there’s a lot of chronic and systematic poverty in the United States, but poverty is much worse in 3rd world countries.

The homeless folks in the United States could be seen as decently well-off compared to the poor in the Philippines or North Korea.

Probably not, no. I don’t love my country so much that I think it’s above criticism

Because there’s a lot of things we could be doing better as a nation to benefit the common citizen but it seems like most things we’re doing benefit corporations who can pay for lobbyists instead of the common man
