Does anyone actually the the US's response to COVID-19 was good?

We lead the world in death and confirmed cases of COVID-19. We are thr only nation with over 1 million deaths from it. Granted we're the 3rd most populous nation, but even adding together China and India's deaths (#1 and 2 in population) we still have more deaths from it.

Face it, we royally fucked up in our COVID-19 response.

I won't comment on the US response because I took no great interest in it. But the UK response was a disaster. A grotesque over-reaction. Inflation out of control and national debt reaching 100% of gdp. Houses have become ludicrously expensive. Is it become they pumped £900 billion into the economy with quantitative easing?

in my opinion, the population is too unhealthy. It really pisses me off that they could suggest people were being healthy or responsible by taking these quack-zines. I would work out two hours a day. Walk for at least an hour a day ensuring I got sunlight. Eating natural, plant based, homemade food. All the while I still worked full time. I'd cold shower every day. And these fucking fat bastards would try and lecture me on health. I never got ill or sick in that time. Alright, I possibly had omicron because I got a headache and the sniffles in that 2021 winter. Big deal.

2/3 of the population are overweight. They should have told the fat cunts to get on a treadmill. They aren't allowed out of the house until they shift the weight. And their benefits cease in the meantime. Those elderly and otherwise sick we could shield or offer benefits, too. But only if that's what they wanted. Self-determination and respect for individual liberty. And personal responsibility. Something that went out of the window a long time ago.

Who had the right to coerce me to get an experimental jab that will do fuck knows what into the long term? And who has the right to tell me that when the one who is preaching me to experiment on my body is so fucking grotesquely overweight and riddled with sickness themselves? I hope some day there will be some accounting for the madness that enfolded.

Excess deaths in the UK were about 15% in both years. 75k excess deaths. In the first year, most of these were probably the 10s of thousands of acknowledged deaths to elderly care home residents who they discharged from hospital and left to die, putting them 'end of life pathways' ie killing them with Midazolam. In the second year the astronomical uptick in deaths coincides exactly with the elderly jabbing campaign, which anecdotal corroboration, but of course, it would never be acknowledged officially.

In the US, 40% of people are obese. Let that figure sink in a bit...

I am not worried about covid, there are more dangerous viruses or infections out there that kill much more people than covid, like pneumonia, mengitits.

If you do your research covid doesn't even hit the top 10 dangerous virus out there. The media and government are just blowing this out of proption.

The governments never get anything right anyway., they all always looking for someone else to blame, it always someone else's fault. No one ever takes responsiblity.

by the way, the fact that most people survive is the case with any pandemic. The flu pandemic of 1919 was the same. Most people survived, but the sheer number of people who got it, made the survival rate not really a concern, because so many people died. I personally consider almost 7 million deaths from one virus (worldwide) a big deal.

That really happens during war. The influenza pandemic of 1919 actually started in the U. S. That was during a war so Spain was the only country producing accurate numbers. So that's how it got its name.

The US had the globally worst response to covid. So bad that even when advised to not reopen because cases would surge and we would need to reclose everything they did it anyways and then when cases surged they got mad basically "why weren't we warned this would happen". Secondly the financial aid was an absolute joke and a huge reminder of how little the government cares of the citizens. To give you an idea of a country that handled it properly and is now thriving (I won't name the country) this country gave all citizens 7k of the currency per month and had them assign one person to go to the grocery store once per week froze literally all payments. When things reopened all that money started going back into the economy causing a massive economic surge.

That's assuming two things:

1) Their reported numbers were accurate (particularly in the case of China, the reported numbers are not believable). India has a much younger population than the US.

2) That the numbers of deaths are measured using the same criteria. Many US figures include people who were determined to have COVID when the actual cause of death was something else.

The solution was not to illegally impose a police state and crater the economy much more than was necessary.

Shutdowns here were making everybody cry like the world is over. China shut down hard and fast and didn't have 400 exceptions for this and that. That curtailed it sooner. Compare that to Haiti where they eventually were just burning bodies in the streets because there were no more ambulances to come get them because everybody wanted to hang out with their 40 closes friends and relatives. Pay up front or pay later, but the ferryman always gets his coin.

Their reported death toll is 5,272, while ours is 1,181,723. I have a feeling that even if they are underreporting, it still wouldn't approach half of ours.

Yes I am saying that. Their cities are huge and I'm sure despite their lockdown efforts, and for how long they were under them, they drastically underreported. If their lockdown worked this well they could have come out from under it way sooner. My question to you was what makes you feel they're not drastically underreporting it?

My logic is in the pure number of citizens and how big their city is and the fact they were blamed for the pandemic (not saying that was right to do or not) but it was in their best interest to make it look like they had it under control. I was just curious as to what makes you feel you can trust Chinas reporting

The WHO disagrees with you for one example. I'm not saying china didn't try to be aggressive in their attempt to stop the spread but based on arguments from experts they are the ones you're saying are wrong. None. Treatment was free. Thousands of people died at home in NYC alone because of mixed messaging. People were dying of strokes, heart attacks, respiratory failure among other things, because they were told not to flood the hospitals unless absolutely necessary. So, people waited too long and ended up dying at home. It was so bad, disgraced NYC mayor Cumo, had a press conference telling people to call 911 if they have life threatening symptoms. Not to worry about seeking help.
